Nummer Fjorton vs Jason Taylor - 205 lbs

The first fight, of the first event, on a new year, in a new era, has an 18 year old prospect, Nummer Fjorton, making his mma debut under manager Christian Johansson. Little is known about this young man other than his successful background in high school wrestling, and a seemingly natural talent with regards to boxing. Jason Taylor will be his opponent come fight time. Taylor seems to be a well rounded mma fighter with an advantage in Muy Thai and BJJ. Taylor is 3-3 with 2 KOs in mma, and will be looking to use his experience to turn the corner on a .500 percent record against the slightly younger, and less seasoned Fjorton.

Prediction: Taylor TKO (Strikes) round 2.

John Brown vs Gauthier Delsarte - 265+ lbs

John Brown lost his debut with Honour at HFC 26 via a first round submission so he has had little opportunity to show his abilities. He is a competent boxer and Muy Thai practitioner, and word on the street is that he has been hitting the gym hard with wrestling coaches in preparation for this fight with an Olympic wrestler out of Paris, Gauthier Delsarte. Delsarte will be making his mma debut, and for an 18 year old, this fighter shows definite promise. With that wrestling base and competent Muy Thai, he has a fighting style that has been known to be effective in mixed martial arts. I believe this will be a win for him.

Prediction: Delsarte TKO (Strikes) round 1.

Yoshimasa Porter vs Ronald Dela Rosa - 135 lbs

Next up will be a featherweight fight between Yoshimasa Porter and Ronald Dela Rosa. Porter is an undefeated mma fighter out of Rotterdam with a professional record of 5-0 with 3 KOs. He is a superb wrestler with competent boxing skills. This will be his second fight under an organization. He won his debut with Honour at HFC 28 beating Scott Powell by TKO, and added a Fight of the Night Award to his mantle. Facing Porter is Filipino, Ronald Dela Rosa, a fighter who has been up and down since embarking on his professional mma career. His record is at 3-3 with 2 KOs. At 26 years of age his skill set is a bit more polished than Porter's. He is a wonderful boxer with respectable wrestling. My main question here is how either of these fighters expect to gain any ground in an ever-increasingly competitive field of fighters when both are not actively training.

Prediction: Porter Unanimous Decision

Gary Severn vs Willem Van Der Weegh - 265 lbs

Moving on to the Heavyweight division with a battle between Gary Severn and Willem Van Der Weegh. Gary Severn is an American with wonderful wrestling skills. He is set to make his debut with HFC under manager Frank Sakuraba. This 25 year old has only had one fight to date which he won by decision in a quick fight against an obscure Jimmy Burns. He will be facing a much more experienced, but not exactly more successful, Willem Van Der Weegh. Van Der Weegh has had a rough way to go up to this point in his career. His record reflects this, standing at 1-4. He is young, but a wonderful wrestler. Once again Van Der Weegh is a fighter that is not currently in a training regimen which places a big question mark on his plans for the future, and the approaching present.

Precition: Severn TKO (Strikes) round 2.

Kiyoshi Sakuraba vs Jimmy Logan - 170 lbs

Japanese Kiyoshi Sakuraba is slated to make his debut with Honour here against British Jimmy Logan in this 170 lb match. Sakuraba is 1-1 with 1 Submission in a QFC. He appears to be a well rounded 24 year old who favors the ground game with his blue belt in ju-jitsu and competent wrestling. Jimmy Logan is a 19 year old prospect with proficient boxing being his bread and butter. At this point in his career he has worked his wrestling up to a mediocre level, and accomplished a blue belt in BJJ. His record is 3-1 with 2 KOs, but continuing with the rather disturbing trend this young man is not actively training. Gentlemen, I myself am new to the Tycooniverse and all, but I bet dollars to donuts, a fighter cannot get anywhere without training, other than the darkest depths of oblivion.

Prediction: Sakuraba Submission (Armbar) round 2.

Alex Sims vs Venom Page - 185 lbs

In the Light Heavyweight division we have Alex Sims moving on from the Alliance Wars organization where he brought his record to 2-2 with 1 KO, and on to HFC for his debut here against Venom Page, who will be making his debut as well. At only 19 years of age the Maori/Aussie, Sims has superb boxing and strong wrestling, a good foundation for a quality mma fighter in my humble opinion. He has also been working his Muy Thai and BJJ under manager Joe Lang at Gorilla Warfare Academy. On the other side, Page is an excellent boxer who is based in Helsinki under manager Rusoposkinen Inkkari. He will be making the trip to his native England to take on Sims. MVP, as they call him, is just 18 years old, and in addition to that wonderful boxing he brings some Muy Thai and competent wrestling to the cage with him.

Prediction: Sims Unanimous Decision.

Arthur Shawcross vs Michel Truffant - 155 lbs

American, Arthur Shawcross, is 2-0 with 2 KOs. This 19 year old boxer with mediocre wrestling and BJJ comes to London to make his debut with the Honour organization. Training at Zero Tolerance gym under manager Anti Kristus, he feels ready to step it up against the more experienced French fighter Michel Truffaut. Truffaut is an excellent Muy Thai striker equally effective with punches or kicks. On paper he appears to be primarily a point fighter, but he has won 2 of his last 3 by KO (Punch) showing that he is either getting stronger and/or honing his striking abilities. He is 5-1 with 2 KOs, and looking to add a 6th victory to his record against an unsuspecting Shawcross. This is an interesting matchup. I'm curious how each fighter will fare striking at range and in the clinch.

Prediction: Truffant TKO (Strikes) round 2.

David Trudea vs Greg Landlaw - 170 lbs

In another Welterweight bout we have David Trudea vs Greg Landlaw. Trudea is a Canadian fighter set to make is debut with Honour, eh? Okay. I'll stop there. Trudeau seems to be coming into his own at 19 years of age. He is a respectable striker with regards to boxing and Muy Thai, with a strong wrestling base as well as a blue belt in ju-jitsu. Coming into this event he has trained exclusively under manager Wan Wilder as his private gym. Facing the Canadian will be Greg "Greco" Landlaw a Brit who will evidently have home field advantage. Greco is a brown belt submission artist with proficient Muy Thai skills. He won his debut with Honour via a RNC which netted him the Submission of the Night award at HFC 27. Having lost to Reed Money, who is absolutely no slouch, at HFC 29 he is definitely looking to right the ship here against Trudea.

Prediction: Trudea TKO (Strikes) round 1.

Duan Daniels vs Patricius Satanae - 265 lbs

The flamboyant Cajun Duan Daniels is set for his first fight under contract with an organization. This 18 year old is a wonderful wrestler with competent boxing technique. He is 1-1 with 1 Submission in QFCs, and even though he is just a white belt in BJJ, he won that fight via armbar showing a decent fight IQ. Facing off against Daniels is Patricius Satanae, an Italian Muy Thai fighter with a nasty clinch. Satanae is another 18 year old, and complimenting that wonderful Muy Thai he has trained hard in boxing, wrestling, and ju-jitsu. Set to make his debut along with Daniel's he comes to the event under manager Rodrigo Muchado, with a record of 1-0 with 1 KO. Both of these fighters are looking to expand on early success with only each other in the way.

Prediction: Satanae TKO (Strikes) round 1.

Snarf Reed vs Donal Brogue - 170 lbs

Ending off the first event of 2017 for HFC is a fight between Snarf Reed and Donal Brogue. Reed, at 1-0 with 1 KO in a QFC, is set to make his debut with Honour. He is wonderful boxer with respectable Muy Thai, and virutally no ground game. He is making a huge jump in competition here taking on Donal Brogue. Brogue has 8 fights under his belt, and has a record of 5-3 with 4 KOs. He is a remarkable boxer with a blue belt in BJJ. Losing 3 of his last 4, the big question here is can Brogue withstand this test of morale to get back on the winning track. Reed, in the infancy of his mma career, should be a good opportunity for Brogue to get all his ducks in a row, and Brogue with a relative wealth of fighting experience, should be a good test for Reed. All things considered here, if Brogue can find it in himself to overcome adversity, he should be able to manhandle Reed into some sort of victory, capitalizing on a clear-cut advantage in wrestling.

Prediction: Brogue TKO (Strikes) round 2.
