Merchandise Partner:  Next Level Nutrition

Bookmakers: TWD Gambling Den

Welcome to tonight’s action proudly bought to you by Next Level Nutrition and The Wild Den which has the fans eager to see the Title Belt up for grabs in the Light Heavy weight division. The Title belt fight will see the undefeated Riley defend his title for the first time after a close stand up win against  Szogun Rua saw him keep his streak alive and become the new Champion. His opponent Valentine has rarely been pushed passed one round and only ever lost in doing so. Has he got the skills to overcome the new Champion we ?  You could always head over to TWD Gambling Den and put you money where your mouth is as money talks and bullshit walks.

Let’s get the action started…..

205 lbs. 5 x 5 Minute Rounds Mark Riley (7-0) v Phoenix Valentine (5-1) 205 lbs. title
With an undefeated record on Championship Belt in his corner Riley started with some good defence but found it equally as hard to connect with Valentine. But before any rhythm and range could be found Riley was taken down with ease like a man possessed Valentine went to work with some outstanding ground and pound leaving Riley scrambling but unable to counter the ferocity and control being imposed on him. With relative ease his blows found there mark and before he knew it Riley was counting sheep as his ticket was punched and he belt taken away.

Winner by way of KO (Strikes). Phoenix Valentine after 1:47 of round 1 and the new Light Heavy Weight Champion as he goes to 6-1.

170 lbs.3 x 5 Minute Rounds Ozuma Obata (6-3) v Rafael Pierce (7-5)
Ozuma proved an immovable force as he was solid in his ability to put an end to the Pierce game plan As Pierce failed at 7 takedown attempts he tried to weather the striking storm of his opponent but as he was cut early he quickly found out the hard way that he was in for a bad night. Blocking a couple of head kicks was just not enough as another lethal blow got through his failing defence and putting him on the mat where Obata had no hesitation in mounting his opponent and finishing him off with a stream of unanswered shots needing the referee to step in.

Winner by way of TKO (Strikes) Ozuma Obata after 1:55 of round 1 and going to 7-3

145 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Ipad Dsix (2-1) v Park Doo Man (5-1)
Going to war in a stand-up battle Dsix had all the intention and bravado to stand and bang with Doo Man but found out quickly all the intention in the world can’t match the ability of a better prepared and skilled opponent. With his shots missing their mark and having little to no chance of breaking the defence of Doo Man, Dsix was left to show case his ability to take punishment. Surviving by shear will and determination from going out late in round 1 his night did not get any better as Doo man swarmed his helpless opponent and outclassed him by missing only one combination in the night and using devastating kicks to cut Dsix to shreds. So much so that Dsix could take no more punishment and with yet another kick landing hard into his head the referee jumped in before certain irreparable damage was done.

Winner by way of TKO (Head Kick) Park Doo Man after 1:36 of round 2 and going to 6-1.

145 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Gab Contreras (3-2) v Carlos Riviera (1-2)
Both men came out hard and looked to create some stand up damage. However with a more detailed game plan and being able to create some diverse fight action, Contreras ensured that he was scoring in front of the judges as he worked some takedowns, ground and pound and Submission attempts into the mix. Looking for away way he could to win Contreras looked certain to end the fight in the third as he rocked Riviera but just could not provide the crowd with a finish as the heart and defence of Riveriera kept him in the fight but he could not come up with the goods to get himself back into the fight as he was outscored each and every round. In the end it was the more complete fight action and takedowns that had him staring at yet another defeat.

Winner, by unanimous decision... Gab Contreras and he goes to 4-2.

265 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Mirachi Machita (0-2) v Jay Hendo (2-1)
Never having a chance to get into the fight Machita was outclassed as he takedown once from standing and again in the clinch and although holding a BJJ Blue belt looked truly horrible in his grappling defence as Hendo quickly sealed the deal on his first submission attempt.

Winner by way of Submission (Kimura) Jay Hendo after 1:14 of round 1 and going to 3-1

145 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Kaarlo Gustav (0-0) v Dois Pra Um (8-5)
These men showed that sometimes defence can just not be rated that highly and the judges just don’t have a clue to score it. With so many strikes missing there mark…..or should we say in most occasions being blocked by the opponent. Gustav showed more class than a debutant as he defended 33 out of a possible 37 ground strikes and also managed to deliver 3 from 3 his self. As the fight became a tactical ground war and although up takedowns that were successful to say Gustav was ahead on points would have been splitting hairs as Pra Um was definitely the busier of the two men. However as the men went the distance something went wrong with two judges going 29-29 and then a third seemingly Olympic Brain Fart of a judge saying it was a 30-27 contest in favour of Pra Um. Yet in the stupidity that I will never understand this Math irregularity is called a Majority draw. Which personally it’s not a draw its one win in favour and if you add it up it still favour of one fighter….but this is why you don’t leave it to the judges.

The final result…The fight is ruled a majority draw!

205 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Ugor Makinwa (1-0) v Anton Solodyhin (2-0)
Getting cut early did not deter Makinwa as he piled on the pressure of precision striking against his punches in bunches tactics of his opponent. While providing good defence Makinawa kept picking his shots and with seconds left in round 1, he came up with a highlight finish and a head kick that had the social media abuzz.

Winner by way of KO (Head Kick) Ugor Makinwa after 4:59 of round 1 and going to 2-0

170 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Nate Riley (3-4) v Atapang Atao (1-1)
Before the echo of the bell had died down Atao had hit Riley and had him floored only to wave him up and then hit him again producing a cut and then rocking him and putting his lights out before he had time to sweat.

Winner by way of KO (Punch) Atapang Atao after 0:24 of round 1and going to 2-1

170 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Erick Indio (0-1) v Victor Kang (1-2)
With a desperation to get the fight to the ground, Indio was trumped by the great defensive takedown ability of Kang as he foiled 36 out of 37 takedown attempts and if it had not been his ability to withstand the punishment for not succeeding would have provided a very short contest. However as he failed in the takedowns he did succeed in getting thumped in the stand up and in the clinch somehow withstanding 73 strikes from all ranges. He may be a hard man but if you only have one game plan you could be in for a long night.

Winner, by unanimous decision... Victor Kang! And going to 2-2.

170 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Van Chooke (4-4) v Sven Wegscheider (1-3)
Clinching early and failing at a takedown Wedscheider had little time to think about his next move when he was quickly hit with some unbelievably heavy hands as he was punished and quickly dispatched to fairy land.

Winner by way of KO (Punch) Van Chooke after 0:37 of round 1and going to 5-4.
