Puno feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Juggernaut sprawling to the canvas! Juggernaut rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Puno finish him?!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Juggernaut.
Puno drops Juggernaut with a big left hand! Juggernaut is injured, injured bad! Puno jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kajun Puno!
Kajun Puno retains his heavyweight title!
During a confident post fight interview, Kajun Puno thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

"I hope the fans enjoyed the fight. It is an honor to step in here, compete, and entertain the fans of this sport."

Kajun Puno is humble in victory, and in the past has showed humility in defeat. Never one to disrespect an opponent or disregard their abilities, he's a true mixed martial artist. He shines when fighting whether it's in the main event or undercard it doesn't seem to effect his performance, nor does he care. He shows up, handles business, doesn't ask questions. He isn't the most charismatic character on the mic but the fans love him just as much they loved his father, Fidel Puno. Kajun is honest, he knows his fathers legacy cast a big shadow and draws attention and publicity in his direction. He understands the game; the family name has drawn a lot of attention in his direction since the beginning of his career.

"It's a double-edge sword."  He told us. He said he's experienced both sides of it.  "Losing isn't acceptable. When you lose, you're not living up to the hype, many negative things get said or printed. Fidel was a legend. Winning isn't enough either. They expect greatness. You receive a lot more attention, and when you show them flashes of it, you are going to be the next king of MMA. You are unbeatable. They give you too much credit and talk as if you are God."

When things aren't going your way, it will never be good enough, and you're going to be judged quickly. The fans were quick to turn on a 6-5 fighter who had a lot of hype around him because of his name. He's constantly under more scrutiny than most because of the legacy. At the same time he knows he receives more recognition and appraisel when he's successful but he knows how to handle it.

"I just fight. I control what I can control. I train, I prepare, I fight. I never pay attention to what fans or critics say, but I have seen it and heard it. It is impossible not to. I just focus on what I can control and leave it all in the cage. Win, lose, or draw - as long as you fight with heart and passion, you honor family name."
