Syn 532 - Euphoria

Preview Prepared by Mason Ashcroft

Some wants too see world fall into pieces…

„What a punch! Just like that, he’s out!”
Some, prefer to see it fall into darkness…
„He got arm under his chin! How long can he stay in it…He’s out!”
But in order to do so, you need power. Power not only to survive – but power necessary to stand on top. Alone. And Strong.

Welcome to war. Welcome – in our world. Welcome, in Syn-city.

185 lbs Darren Lockyer Vs Pablo Escobarre

Middleweight division is one of the most exciting divisions in MMA and Syn-City isn’t any different. One of the examples is the first fight of this card, where veteran of over 60 fights, Darren Lockyer will face off against “Candyman” Pablo Escobarre. Even tho he has half the fights his opponent has, he isn’t a pushover. World champion at both 170 and 185lbs, Escobarre made it clear – he is as serious as any other fighter. With over 85% wins coming by way of stoppage, he never looks to grind you out. He looks to put you out. But on the other side of the cage stands a person with exactly same approach. Looking to find his 40th (T)KO victory, Darren is as dangerous as ever. Multidivision champion of his own, winning titles at 185 and 205, he created legacy of his own. Legacy that may be coming to an end – but in no way coming fast. After losing Ascension championship, he struggled to find his way back to Win column. Will this fight be the one to round up his knock out record?

145 lbs Viktor Tsoi Vs Charles Ng

Long time EVO Featherweight Champion made a jump to Syn – jump that started well, before falling down. Going from win to lose and back to win is something that Viktor Tsoi isn’t looking forward to. That’s why he wants to start a new winning streak – with his eyes set on his next opponent, Charles Ng. Former Bantamweight Phenom made jump to Featherweight. 14-4 up-and-comer wants to make an impact in his new division and he wants to do it fast. Eyeing someone who was treated as a top P4P fighter seems like a best idea available. But Viktor isn’t looking to lie down and let Charles steamroll through him. You can be sure that old dog will defend his yard with everything he has, trying to reach top of the mountain once more. But Charles isn’t an underdog just based on their records – with age, comes wisdom. And with wisdom, comes experience. Tsoi is definitely more skilled and more experienced fighter. Question is – is youth enough to top that advantage. Answer may be much more interesting than anyone expects.

265+ lbs Bull Hurley Vs Kristian Johansson

Next fight will be huge. Literally. Over 265lbs division. Though that is just a name. Long time Syn roster member and one of the smallest Heavyweights signed, Bull Hurley will make another trip to the cage to face much, much bigger challenge – Kristian Johansson. Swedes nickname – “Mr. Amnesia” – didn’t just show up for no reason. With all wins coming by way of TKO or KO, he seems to find joy in sending people to sleep with his fists. 2m tall and nearly 290lbs frame is capable of producing power which is hard to match. Even that Bull is as tall, he is outweight by 60lbs – but even then, he has serious power of his own, collecting 21 stoppage victories of his own. Both fighters happened to be on receiving end of those too, due to their brawl-it-out style, which means that this fight has basically 0% chance to end due to time limit. Even in case of that happening, that fight promises spectacular show of fireworks. Or nuclear missles. Look for devastating, all-out war that will leave one of those guys in the dreamland.

145 lbs Abraham Donovitz Vs Lil Wayne **FW Championship Fight**

In the co-main event of the evening we will return to Featherweight divison – this time to see the biggest of the small man. Current Syn 145lbs king, Abraham Donovitz will look to end another chapter of his storied career, as he will look to defend his throne against someone who he couldn’t beat in the past – Current holder of Lightweight championship, Lil Vayne. Those two met twice before, both times adding another W to Vayne’s record, though both fights ended as decisions. This time, younger of Donovitz brothers hopes to prove that he learnt from the past. They say that losses help us grow and if Abraham didn’t grow enough by this point, he may very well not have another shot to redeem himself. Following his brother’s footsteps he already became one of the best on the planet, now he needs to settle down his personal score to move one and make a run at absolute peak. But if there is someone who had an option to learn from the past – it has to be Lil Vayne. With 62 pro fights and 50 wins, he saw everything and he done everything. And winning 155lbs title, while being of the best 145pounders WITH Bantamweight frame isn’t impressive. It’s just amazing. This should prove to everyone how good he really is. And with only 10 losses, he didn’t give up much information about his weaknesses. Can World Championship grappling skills help Abraham overcome Elite striking of Lil Vayne’s this time? One way or another, this Trilogy will end on this faithful night.

205 lbs Evil Nixon Vs Grigol Pandahammer **LHW Championship Fight**

At last, we got here. Main. Event. Of. The. Evening. 5 Rounds fight in Light Heavyweight Division, where 27yr old EVO stand out Evil Nixon will look to defend his title, after his stunning debut. His first title defense is no easy task – former title holder and winner of his last 4 fights, Grigol Pandahammer. In previous fight we had a clear contrast of experienced vet and up-and-coming sensation. This time we will see clash of two, young fighters – but both already made the name for themselves. 19-2 Nixon took EVO by storm, before jumping right into title fight in Syn. With stunning record and fighting style to match it, he proved himself to be a true number 1, when he TKOed Pedro to win that belt. Grigol was on a streaky run after losing championship he won from Kocur way back at Syn 475, but he finally found his way and dominated his last 4 fights to make a case for himself to be next title challenger. With his crisis gone, we may just see much more dangerous version of him. Born and raised in one of the toughest environment possible, it wasn’t easy to even survive in Georgia – but with his talent he quickly found way out of that place, still proudly representing  his native country. Once you are on the bottom, once you experience that slump you never – NEVER – want to feel it again. That kind of determination may be what he needs to overcome Nixon, who doesn’t look to give up his spot easily. Even though he didn’t drop as low as his opponent did, he faced his first knockout loss in recent history. There is no doubt that he doesn’t want to feel that again and will learn from his mistakes, to get better and avoid that outcome again. They say it’s easy to reach the top, but it’s hard to stay on top. It’s time for Nixon to face that test and prove himself to be a true champion.
