 BFT 128 Review

Heavyweight - "Grizzly" Jacques Trudeau knocked out "The Butcher" Yama Lakes by strikes at 1:59 in round 2.

Things looked bad for Lakes early. He was cut by an admittedly stiff jab. Trudeau was able to keep Lakes off gaurd and took things down to the ground. On the ground, the two worked on several submissions. They seemed about even, if you did NOT include all the strikes being landed by Jacques. The fight went back to the feet breifly, but Trudeau was dominant there AND took things back to the ground. Things didn't look well for Lakes in the second, as he got taken down quickly. It wasn't long before the ground and pound took him out.

Middleweight - Miau Subsi submitted Elijah "Electro" Paris by americana at 4:50 in round 1.

It didn't take long for Subsi to take control of the fight. He quickly threw Paris up against the cage and took himi down from there. Subsi got up after a little while and put the fight back up against the cage. Paris took things down this time. The two of them went back and forth with submissions for a while, until Subsi went from a kimura-into-americana submission.

Welterweight - Jan "The Walking Punching Bag" Den Knieschijf Unanimous Decisioned Renee "The Ragin' Cagun" Mondeux.

Things started out MONSTEROUSLY for Mondeux. He landed a huge combo right from the gates which knocked Jan down, gave him a cut, and sea legs. An attempt to recover, Dan Kieschijf brought the fight to the clinch and started swinging. Mondeux took the fight to the ground and worked hard on some ground and pound. Mondeux walked out of that getting ready to finish things in the second. But he would be sadly mistaken. The fight wens back into the clinch, and Jan was enjoying his time there. He threw an onslaught of elbows and knees, even cutting Mondeux with one. Mondeux was able to take things to the ground at the end of the round, and work a little ground and pound into the game. He was hoping that was enough to steal the round. The third round was held in the clinch, where Den Knieschijf implemented his game plan on knees. The judges gave the fight to Den Knieschijf, but I would have called the fight a draw, with the first round being 10-8 for Mondeux. But I'm no judge.

Co-Main - Heavyweight - "Broomstick" Dingo Monster knocked out "OVereem" Jason Hannibal with knees at 2:44 in round 1.

Another clinch fight. Monster was able to get the clinch and assault Hannibal from there. Not much more to it than that.

Main Event - Welterweight - Curtis "Razor" Sharp submitted Abu "Bonecrusher" Davee with Strikes at 1:46 in round 1.

Sharp took things down quickly, and from there Davee was essentially finished. Sharp landed a total of 6 strikes to put away a tough Abu.
