An 'Ace' up his Sleeve

Fighter profile of Ace Giannis Ignacio by Doc Dannis

We are often told in mixed martial arts that the best fighters go unbeaten for years at a time, they hold a place of near immortality until the day in which they fall to a hungry competitor...

I myself listen to a different tune altogether, more often than not a mixed martial arts record isn't a testament to how great of fighter you are, no sometimes a record shows how fearless you are.

7-7 Ace Giannis Ignacio is a prime example of just that. Starting his career 1-3 and later improving it to 3-3 after a pair of wins (one being his middleweight debut) he would then go on a 4 fight skid at 205 that when Ace and his management went back to the drawing board gave an immediate answer to his troubles, Ace would fight just once more at 205 before committing to his new diet and making the move down to 185 and in his next 3 fights he would win in DEVESTATING fashion knocking all three opponents out in under 30 seconds with his last two fights being stopped in just 5 seconds! Ignacio has proven that he is a world class mixed martial arts and perhaps he was just fighting in the wrong weight class. This profound success he has found in the middleweight division is nothing less than a spectacle to see. Bringing every bit of power he had at the 205 lb division to the 185ers and making the cut seamingly without losing any of his strength, this is shaping up to be a title run for the ages, currently locked in some disputes with his organization, I think it is safe to say we all want to see him fight again soon! If not for a title against either a former champion or in a #1 contender eliminator however it seems he has chosen to wait it out for a title shot, lets just hope we see a fight soon!

You are not defeated when you lose, you are defeated when you quit, what defines you is not the outcome of a fight, rather how you deal with that outcome and how you improve yourself.

Ace has had possibly the best mixed martial arts "glowup" of the decade and is a scary sight for any middlewight to have to stare across the octagon/ring at this beast! "The Future" is looking very bright for this 22 year old mixed martial artist!
