Event Preview: Rural Champion 4

2020-03-17, London, The Underground - London
Author:Butch Racuzza

Hello Everyone,

Butch Racuzza here with a rundown of Rural Champion 4 which airs live from The Underground – London on March 17, 2020!

We have an exciting card for you as well as plenty of fighters making their Rural Combat Streets debut! Best of luck to all fighters on the card for RC 4.

Kicking things off will be three Prelim matches to get you primed for the Main Card!

The Main Card consists of six matches broken down into four mid-card matches, one co-main event, and finally the event headliner. Without further a due, lets introduce you to RC 4’s official fight card!

Rural Champion 4

Prelims-

Mr Bean (0-0-0) VS Handy “Handyman” James (0-1-0)

Kicking off the card we have an open weight bout between newcomers Mr Bean and Handy James. Both competitors are looking for their first wins of their respective careers. Mr Bean is making his professional debut at the young age of 18! He represents the Legion of Doom and trains out of Relentless Gym in Rio Dio Janeiro. Their neon sign is still burned into my retinas! Handyman James lost in his debut via a guillotine choke to Rodolfo Moraes in a quick fight. He can ill-afford an 0-2-0 to start in his professional career!

Axl “Viper” Loria (0-0-0) VS Vanhempi Koira (0-2-0)

Making his debut, 25-year-old Axl Loria challenges Koira who is still in search of his elusive first victory. Vanhempi Koira ranks dead last among fighters in the 135-pound weight class division. He looks to begin the daunting challenge of climbing up out of the basement to become relevant in the future. Meanwhile, his opponent is ranked third in the weight class based on his skills and popularity coming into RSC and is heavily favored in this fight! Either way this goes someone is walking out of here with their first victory of their career. Unless of course the dreaded draw occurs.

Blackout Mane (0-0-0) VS Pico “Spider” Santos (0-1-0)

This bout takes place in the 170-pound weight class division and features the heavy-handed Blackout Mane. He is a pure puncher plain and simple and will always look to keep the fight standing and his opponent Pico Santos on the outside! Pico Santos has no boxing game to speak off, so he will look to utilize the clinch and his wrestling skillset to score takedowns and to get this fight on the ground as soon as possible where he is far more comfortable. It’s really going to come down to whether this fight takes place on their feet or not! Blackout Mane would be my pick for knockout of the night.

Main Card-

Marcus Megnus Maximus Jr Maximus Jr (0-1-0) VS Yoshi “Green Dino” Togata (4-0-0)

Ahh, the man with the repetitive name is taking on a true beast! Yoshi Togata, the man that ran the quick tournament gauntlet and won the whole dang show! We thought we knew who the big dogs were in the 170-weight pound class division and then came along Togata! The 23-year-old out of Tokyo, Japan has three submission victories already under his belt and a unanimous decision as well. The Green Dino is going to have something to say about the 170-weight pound championship before all is said and done. You know both Ispa Perkele and The Hitman, who will be fighting on the 14th, are going to be keeping their eyes on this fight! I’d venture to guess that if the Green Dino manages to go 5-0-0 that he would be the number one seed in the tournament.

Toinen Nuori (2-0-0) VS Bin “Bear Hug” Lio (0-1-0)

Well here we go again, Toinen Nuori the man who is tearing his way through everyone that RSC has to offer! He’s coming off back-to-back submission of the night awards and looking to make it a trifecta! He tapped out Plugger in RC 1 via a triangle and Diago Jota via a rear naked choke in RC 2. Which submission will he attempt to submit Bin Lio in this time? One of the heavy favorites in the 155-weight pound class will look to remain undefeated against newcomer Bin Lio. Bin Lio in his own right is a well-respected wrestler who has a complimentary blue belt in Jiu Jitsu so he’s not hitting out of his league. He just needs to stay focused rub himself down in baby oil to stay out of Toinen’s deadly submissions.

Domino “The Titan” Lee (1-0-0) VS Will Wrecks (0-1-0)

Both these competitors are making their debuts in RSC! Domino Lee comes to us from Japan, but trains out of Star Studded Beef in Los Angeles. That sounds like a beef jerky brand! Lee submitted John Michaels via an Armbar to pick up his first win in professional fighting. Will Wrecks on the other hand, lost to TX Running via a unanimous judge panel decision. A potential win here by Lee would open eyes and see him as a legitimate threat in the 170-weight pound division!

Diago “King” Jota (0-2-0) VS Pablo Itzpapalotltotec (0-0-0)

Our final mid-card bout takes place in the 155-pound weight class division. It features a newcomer with a last name that I have no chance of pronouncing correctly! His adversary? Diago Jota, the man who’s trying to redeem himself for a disappointing showing at RC 2 against Toinen Nuori! Jota was in deep water last month against the deadly Nuori. He got picked apart, exposed, and gave up his back in under thirty seconds. Hopefully he learned from that experience and will be better defensively against newcomer, Pablo Itzaimpossibletopronounce.

Co-Main Event

Luca Vietti (1-0-0) VS Matt “Messiah” Ramos (1-0-0)

The co-headliner for RC 4 not only contains two unbeaten behemoths in the 170-pound weight class division, but also respectively the number 1 and 2 ranked fighters in the weight class! Luca Vietti coming off an impressive performance against Hamad Abdulakashalakmun. Luca submitted Hamad via an impressive Kimura lock in the final moments of round 3 to prevent the decision from going to the judge’s scorecards. Matt Ramos holds the more superior brown belt in BJJ so this should be a highly technical fight. Ramos was able to submit Bob Hope with his deadly arm triangle. I’d put down money on this fight yielding the Submission of the Night award if it wasn’t for the fact that Toinen is on the card! Instead, it’s a safe hedge bet to say this will be the fight of the night!

The Main Event

Vince “Speed” Silva Sr (0-0-0) VS Palmer “Carson” AZ (0-1-0)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give to you the Main event of RC 4! This fight takes place in the 205-weight pound class where neither competitor has won a professional bout yet! The highly touted Vince Silva Sr makes his professional debut against Palmer AZ who is coming off a dismal display against Bobby Bryant in a quick fight that saw him get knocked out in under a minute! The winner surely, will cement themselves in the upper part of the 205-weight pound class rankings ahead of the highly coveted tournament qualifiers that has been widely speculated around the internet. We still have had no official word on it however from Rural Streets matchmaker Butch Racuzza. He is scheduled to have a presser about the 155-pound and 170-pound weight class tournaments however at some point leading up to this event!

Thank you for reading and be sure to check out both Rural Champion 3 on March 14, 2020 and Rural Champion 4 on March 17, 2020 live from The Underground – London.
