Three things you might not know about rising star Oscar Bolleke:

1) Martial Arts talent runs in the family.

He is the younger brother of the former number 2 mixed martial artist in the world Thomas Bolleke. Oscar Bolleke was one of Thomas Bolleke’s favorite sparring partners for almost an entire year. Oscar watched in shock and awe as his big brother tried to conquer the MMA world and now seems at the start of a potentially great career himself.

2) Better late than never.

Despite testing his skills on a weekly basis against his big brother for a long time, he didn’t have the itch to really test himself in the cage until he turned 25. But when he finally did step into the cage, he made a statement by finishing his first opponent in under a minute and immediately scoring himself a contract with one of the top MMA orgs in Montreal.

3) He loves K-POP. Maybe a bit too much.

You can find him most of the time in the gym, wearing headphones and blasting K-POP music whenever he’s not sparring. Sometimes he forgets he’s not alone in the gym and starts singing along with the songs quite loudly. This has led to some frustrations with his sparring partners and some intense but very educational sparring sessions.
