Pride of Toronto ready to shock the world

Fighter profile of Darrell Newsome by Chris Karter

Canada's Darrell Newsome (12-3-0) vows to "pop a cherry" verse RISE welterweight champion Tagnarach Kamara (13-0) when they face off at RISE 160.

Newsome is a knockout artist hailing from Toronto and trains at the Canadian Elite Bruins Gym in Montreal. He is set to faceoff against the reigning champion but told the Tycoon Times that he's more than ready for the challenge.
"For the first time in my life I'm taking my career seriously, " Newsome said. "I'm with an elite manager, training at an elite gym, and I'm blessed to get to hurt people for money. I know (Kamara) is a tough opponent, but I promise you I'm gonna pop his cherry. He can't take a shot like I can."
Newsome's game has vastly improved since his time with Bradley Burns, and he's put together an impressive 3-fight win streak with his biggest victory, or at least his flashiest, coming by way of Spinning Backfist Knockout back at RISE 123 in the Camden Conference Centre in London. But there's no denying that Newsome enters this fight as a heavy underdog and deserves some credit for taking this fight in the first place.
The undefeated champion Tagnarach Kamara is the #5 ranked welterweight fighter in the entire world, and one of the most promising prospects outside of the PPV organizations. He currently trains at Convicted Fight Club and has taken RISE by storm with an impressive winning streak.
He's Skibbereen's finest and possesses what Chris Karter calls the "touch of death". After capturing the title in a closely contested Fight of the Night performance against former champion Muenster Romano at RISE 103, Kamara has torn through the division. He's riding 7-fight knockout streak heading into his fight with Newsome and expects this contest will be no different.
"I'll snipe (Newsome). His manager might kick him out the gym after this." Kamara says. "Once he feels the power and the speed, he's gonna turtle up like the rest of 'em."
Newsome acknowledged Kamara's response and welcomed the challenge as the underdog, telling us he's ready to shock the world and put his own name on the map, giving all the credit to his coaches and trainers at Canadian Elite Bruins Gym in Montreal.
"I train with the best. We have some of the best kickboxers in the world here and all of the coaches were P4P ranked guys," Newsome claims. "SYN champs. CEC champs. Champions in some of the biggest organizations in the world. Championship DNA runs in the gym and I love it. I promise you I'll be apart of it."
