Convicted dominates at DMMA 209

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - Dynasty MMA hosted DMMA 209 inside the massive LA Memorial Colossuseum, and by the end of the night over 92,000 fans left the arena with their pants saturated from excitement.

A few performances particularly stood out last night, highlighted by a main card that featured three fighters who are represented by the best damn management company in the game, Convicted Inc. Convicted Inc fighters went a perfect 3-0 with 3 finishes, and surely one of them will claim a Knockout of the Night bonus by the time the smoke clears.

First up was "The Honey Badger" Taz McKane (10-3-0) against Anthony Lalime (18-14-1), a bout that saw the Irishman batter his Canadian opponent for just over 10 minutes before scoring a TKO stoppage only 43 seconds into the third and final round. McKane is now 2-1 under the DMMA banner and this latest performance puts the Light Heavyweight division on notice. Watch out for The Honey Badger's vicious ground and pound!

The very next match on the card was a Heavyweight showdown between Bento "Anjo da Morte" Barboza (16-9 MMA, 13-2 KT) and Constantin Niculescu (18-12-0). The Romanian Niculescu had a strong first round by scoring an early takedown and controlling the pace for a few minutes before the ref got antsy and stood the fighters back up, a move that was appreciated by all the fans in attendance - but probably not by Niculescu's coaches. Niculescu responded to the ref stand up with a slick combination that landed by he'd have a pair of takedowns stuffed by Barboza and was bloodied up by a crisp right hand from the kickboxing champ. Constantin Niculescu's corner was screaming at their fighter in between rounds to get the fight back to the ground, and for what it's worth, he made his best effort at the start of round 2 but Barboza beautifully sprawled his takedown attempts. It didn't take the kickboxing champion from Portugal very long to knock his opponent down with a powerful uppercut and finish him off with a right hand from hell that left his foe motionless on the canvas. Barboza is 2-0 since joining Convicted Top Team and seems set on reclaiming the DMMA Heavyweight champion that he once held.

The main event of the evening featured Light Heavyweight contenders "Porrachinha" Swole Ricky Martin (15-6-0) and "The Bestial Barron" Zekariays Solomon (16-3-0). One thing that has to be mentioned is that 'Porrachinha' has been blessed with a freakish comic book physique by Jesus Christ himself, as the Brazilian looked absolutely shredded out there. Both fighters sport blackbelt in Jiujitsu and Solomon seemed content on turning the contest into a grappling match, dragging Swole Ricky Martin down to the canvas numerous times in the first round, but Swole Ricky Martin's defensive grappling was on point, reversing the position and just dry humping his opponent until the ref had to intervene before Solomon got pregnant. Ricky dictated the pace in the 2nd round, battering Solomon against the fence for 5 minutes. After a Viking-esque tongue-lashing from his trainers in between rounds, Ricky came out in the 3rd like a bat out of hell, wasting no time unleashing a ruthless combination on his American opponent, leaving Solomon out cold and mangled against the cage.

If one of these three fighters don't win knockout of the night, surely there will be some outrage on social media and buzz for the injustice they have suffered at the hands of new management, because all three Convicted fighters absolutely razzled and dazzled with their gritty performances.
