"Jiu-Jitsu is gay." MMA fighter sparks backlash

"Are you sure this shit ain't gay?" Ernesto Mathieu sparks backlash with derogatory comment sending the closeted Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community and the LGBTQ+ community up in arms.

Ahead of his Co-Main Event against MMA veteran and career journeyman Thom Tharrier at WVT 125, the infamous Dutch kickboxer (2-0) and MMA fighter (13-3) Ernesto Mathieu once again stirs up a media frenzy with his brash comments during a mandated WVT pre-fight press conference in London, England.

"Prepared to strike. Never rolled (BJJ) in my life." Ernesto tells reporters during a mandated WVT pre-fight interview in London, England. "When you have elite boxing and elite muay thai, you rely on your striking. I have knees and I have elbows. You thnk you can take me down? My takedown defense is elite. You can't take me down. I work at this everday."

Tharrier is a former kickboxer (13-15-1) himself, and he was as much of a stepping stone over there as he was in MMA (20-12). He's what Ernesto's camp call a tuna fight, or a tune-up. Ernesto understands he needs to build himself back up after "fumbling the bag" against fellow Heavyweight strikers Roch Doisneau (9-2) and former champion Tali Ihantala (31-12). He is confident that his fighter with Tharrier will be purely a stand up affair but he's not too concerned with his opponent's wrestling.

"Even if you do (take me down), I'll get back up. You can't hold me down. I'm a beast. I got my purple belt because nobody in my gym can take me down. I'm too big. Too strong. Too mobile, agile, and god damn sexy. I'm a machine, a beast, a juiced up man-killer. Nobody works as hard as me. Even my kicks are elite. Joe Rogan respects my kicks. Mike Tyson wishes he punched like me. All the heavyweights fear my striking. Kilo Maluga has nightmares about it. I'm smoke him quicker than a Diaz."

Ernesto was pretty confident in his abilities, and he was reason to be. Even though he's 2-0 professionally as a kickboxer, he had a sensational career as an amateur. He compiled an unbelievable record of 420-0-1 with the only draw of his career being against current teammate Bento "Anjo da Morte" Barboza (16-9 MMA, 13-2-0 KT). But Barboza and Ernesto weren't always teammates, Barboza used to train with the inferior YABAI camp managed by Action Jackson and that is where they met at amateurs over 12 years ago.

"It was a close fight. I admit it. He hit me harder than any fighter I have ever faced. But my chin is granite. It's forged of steel. Do you know why he's been KO'd 7 times? It's because he fought me as an amateur. "Ernesto's tirade continued, "I'm more juiced up on Bullshark Testosterone than Alistair Overoid in his prime. I've got more THC in my system than Snoop D-O-Double G. My piss hotter than Hunter Biden's prostitutes."

Ernesto finished his rant off about politics, critisizing both the left and the right, and then took aim at the LGBTQ+ community with a comment about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and how it's most definitely "super gay".

"When you're this skilled on the feet, you don't need to roll around with another dude playing grabass on the ground. All these MMA fanboys and fairy fighters love Jiu-Jitsu. It's just two dudes dry-humping eachother on the ground. To quote the great Richard Nixon, "it's the most faggety shit I've ever seen." and that's just the truth."

We now know one thing is for certain, the alphabet community and the rainbow brigade will not be rooting for the Dutchman in his next bout or any of his future fights. And we don't think he's going to get any love from the BJJ community either, because Brazilians often tend to be over-sensitive soyboys. He's already ruffles some feathers for his desparaging remarks about Jiu-Jitsu, and some practioners issued a warning to Ernesto for his remarks, but it genuinely seems like the kickboxer doesn't care who he offended.

"If I want to watch two dudes roll around the ground like (expletive) and (expletive), I'd go to pornhub and search for gay porn." Ernesto finished it off with, "You can't even punch eachother in the face in Jiu-Jitsu. You're only allowed to choke each other out and pull on eachothers limbs. How gay is that?"
