The Bryant Davis Story

Fighter profile of Bryant Davis by Tycoon Judas

Trap House Rapper turned MMA Phenomenon The Rise of "The Super Hooligan"

It wasn't always High Life and Times for Portsmouth's Bryant Davis. Bryant had many trials and tribulations to overcome on the streets of one of the UK's most dangerous Cities.

Early Life
Born to a Haitian Mother Belinda Durocher and Jamaican Father Irving Davis, his Parents met in London but would soon move to Portsmouth, UK. At a young age Bryant wanted to become a football legend and one day play for the Portsmouth FC.  It was at Fratton park the home of Portsmouth FC where Davis would become a well-known Hooligan and small time Drug Trafficker. Bryant also had a hard time staying out of trouble with the law, getting his first charges at the prime age of just 13 years old. Davis enjoyed the casual snatch and grab and sneak and geek.
Outside the Hooligan Life Bryant began Rapping at the age of 7 and had a smash hit with his Freestyle "Super Hooligan". It was in a Youth Offender Institution where Davis would get the idea to start a career in MMA. Davis was always Beating up fellow inmates in the Institution, and it wasn't long before his rep as a Fighter would begin to get noticed around the area. Once free from his sentence, Bryant decided to meet up with Agent Not Skenoj to chat about getting started in MMA. After the Meeting Skenoj gave Bryant a invite to the famed Heartless Team gym located in Montreal where Davis would hone his skills with the likes of Jesse Pinkman, Dude McWrestler, and Ivan Dochenko to name just a few.

Early start to his career in MMA
Bryant Davis made his Pro Debut just a month after beginning his Training at Heartless Team. He did so in dominate fashion knocking out John Smith in just 37 seconds at the Heartless Special 1 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He would then get the attention of the Bellicose Promotion in New York where he would make his next appearance. It was here where he would be tested on his ground game, dropping the opening round due to control time on the mat. He would go on to stop his opponent's relentless Takedown attempts and collect his second TKO win in as many fights. Bryant would take a quick break from fighting to improve his ground game, with his previous bout serving as an eye opener.

Signing his first Multi Fight Contract
After nearly a 7 month layoff from fighting. Davis would make his return under a new Promotion known as Dynasty Contenders. He met Little Bandit in his DC debut at DC 23: Thorn vs Billingsly in what would be his first defeat in the sport. After the fight, word is Bryant nearly gave up MMA and was about to go back to his Trap House Lifestyle, when his Agent had a serious life talk with the then 21 year old. Davis now rejuvenated would step back into the Dynasty Contenders cage and get in some work knocking out Slim Slow with a first round TKO.  Now 3-1 as a pro Bryant would meet the truly underrated Ari Katajamaki who would bring him to his first Decision. Bryant blossomed in this fight as we saw him dominate his opponent for 3 full rounds in route a Unanimous Decision.

Winning first MMA Title
With back-to-back wins, Bryant at just 4-1 and just 22 years of age got the opportunity to win his first Title at DC 46: Thorn vs Savisto. The Champion Jan Sokol proved to be a very good experience for Davis as the two went the distance in a 5 round championship bout. Davis showed off his Patience in this bout almost getting a 5th round finish but the scorecards for this one nearly sent Bryant into rage as it went to a split Decision. Didn't matter in the end though, Davis had become DC Bantamweight champion and he would head back home with his new belt. The City of Portsmouth was ecstatic about having an MMA World Champion, the townsfolk would surprise young Bryant with a huge Homecoming party and gifting him three young ladies for the night in appreciation.
With his Celebrations now behind him Bryant returned to Montreal to train for his first Title Defense against a dangerous grappler in Frank Dux. His fight with Dux was without a shadow of a doubt his breakout performance thus far, as he would shut down his challenger in all 5 rounds making his first Successful title defense.  Bryant then signed on to fight the next #1 contender just 1 month later in the likes of Verney Lapierre a young and equally brash French fighter who had many words with the Champ leading up their bout at DC 66 Davis vs Lapierre in early July. Davis would go on to settle this score in devastating fashion Knocking the Frenchman out in round 3. It was so brutal Lapierre has vanished from Media and MMA completely with no sign of anything.

Future Outlook
The Future looks bright for the young native of Portsmouth but the competition is only getting hotter at Dynasty Contenders he will next face of with a lethal BJJ artist who has been at the Org Owners Doorsteps each and every morning for the last year begging for a shot at the title. That man Shu Fang Tzeng will get his shot as Bryant stated he would love to retire this old ass man once and for all. Lots of potential fights in the future with recent signings of Natalia Pisswater and Zair Freeman. Of course with his sole loss to Little Bandit, I'm sure Bryant would love to run that one back at some point.  For now, Bryant is living it up and smoking only the finest of greens. Still rapping and occasionally knocking out randos on the streets of his hometown. Bryant Davis is growing up fast, and his rise has been one hell of a ride. Right now it's taking off like a rocket so don't miss it!
