Ascension Birthday Bash – 22 Sep

To all the MMA fans out there, I bring to you today the preview of yet another big event in Ascension which features a battle for the 265 lbs belt and some other great fights as well.. What makes this so much more special is the fact that it’s the birthday event of our beloved Org owner, Mr. Dean Sutherland.. Happy Birthday Boss.. I am betting that the fighters will give it all for Mr. Sutherland. Lets take a look at the top five matches for the day.

Victor Creed v/s Sebastian Bantrell (265 lbs title)

Bantrell is going to get another chance at the 265 title against Victor Creed after he failed to show up the last time.. Victor Creed looks like he is in the best form of his career.. He has 8 victories in a row to boast of, and he has already twice defended his title, that too in tremendous style by knocking out both his opponents.. In fact, a whopping 94% of his 16 victories have come via knock outs.. Bantrell isn’t exactly going to be a piece of cake, with 20 KO victories of his own, but he will have to have an extraordinary night, showcase the best fight of his career if he is to beat Creed and win the title..if he manages to show up at the right place this time that is..

Marcus Behnder v/s Djoser Rei

Another 265 lbs match and one I really look forward to..Behnder is on a streak, having won 10 matches in a row..The last time these two met, Behner enjoyed a first round submission victory..he is virtually unbeatable if the fight goes to the ground, with his remarkable wrestling and purple belt in BJJ..The only way Rei’s got a chance is if he could stuff Behnder’s takedown attempts and keep the fight on his feet..this would let him capitalize on his wonderful MT..lets wait and see if he can do it this time and have his revenge..

Kupke De Vries v/s Garson DeBramalo

Another fight in the 265lbs category.. Two champs going at each other to decide who is the best..Both exceptionally skilled fighters with exceptional or above in all their primaries.. On paper De Vries looks like he has a better chance with elite MT and brown BJJ belt, which gives an advantage both on his feet and on the ground..but unfortunately fights are not won on paper..and DeBramalo doesn’t look like he intends to make it easy for his opponent..With a record to match or even rival De Vries, he is going to give it everything..

Billy Batts v/s Marcus Crassus

Yet another fight where both the fighters are almost too good at all their primaries..this time in the 205 lbs class..both former champions..both on winning streaks..With better Boxing and MT Batts is going to be tough to beat on his feet..but if Crassus can manage to take the fight to the ground, he has the advantage..He has better wrestling and he has won 11 times via submission..That could be enough to give Batts a run for his money..it will all depend on who is better on that day..a slight slip on the part of either fighter could spell victory for the other..

Simbo Klice v/s Dimitry McFarlen

Back to the 265 lbs category..again two of the best fighters are going to battle it out for their fans..both fighters are equally good on their feet with sensational or higher Boxing and MT..Klice looks to have an advantage in the ground skills section with slightly better wrestling and BJJ..But I doubt if he will be looking to take it to the ground..Having knocked out his opponent in 17 of his 18 victories, he wouldn’t be scared of staying on his feet..McFarlen has the skill to stand up to Klice and score a win..it all comes down to who is more hungry for victory on that day..lets wait and see..

There you have it everyone, make sure you show up on the 22nd with all the other fans.. The place is going to fill up..lets party on the Boss's birthday..Again wishing him a very Happy Birthday.. I'm Yuri Boyka signing off, enjoy the preview, don't throw bricks through my window if you disagree.. Good night everyone!
