HWP296 Marko vs Samurai! PREVIEW

What's good sugar plums? It's that time again! Heavyweight Prize Fighting is proud to be bringing you HWP296: Marko vs. Samurai! This should be a real ripsnorter as the #4 and #36 p4p fighters in the world go head to head for the first time. There's shedloads of action on this card which will be coming live to you from Vegas' MMA Grand arena in front of 17000+ trained monkeys wearing people's clothing. Stupid people's clothing. As per usual, the tips will be at the end of the preview so make sure you throw your dollars down and get rich bitches!

Semmy "Aldo" Rizzo vs. Jack "The Ripper" Barton

No messing around straight up as the massive skills of "Also" Rizzo and "The Ripper" Barton meet up in a certain clash of the titans. Rizzo is a phenomenal striker which only serves to compliment his Olympic standard wrestling. At 219cm tall this makes him a formidable opponent for blackbelt "The Ripper" Barton who, at 189cm and without quite the same level of devastation in his striking, is the definite underdog in this bout. It certainly doesn't help Barton's cause that he's lost his last 4 on the trot so my money is on the slightly younger Rizzo to knock Barton out in devastating fashion and redeem the loss he suffered in his last appearance.

Ray "Lightning" Quik vs. "one or the other" Whoopass Orrobpeople

Young meets old just like a dodgy Czech porno when "Lightning" Quik takes on the old timer Orrobpeople. Given the relative length of time both have been in the game neither man has a particularly large amount of fights to their name but this may be due to their love of training. Orrobpeople is a BJJ master, his red belt backed up by some ferocious wrestling whereas Quik holds the standup advantage and has the heavy hands to put it to use. Quik is around 10cm shorter but this shouldn't be enough to require him to stand on a ladder to reach "One or the other" and with the latter fighter likely looking to shoot for the takedown he may well be presenting "Lightning" with an easy target. If this fight stays standing, Quik is all over it but almost all of his KOs have come in the late stages of his fights so I expect Orrobpeople to get him down and choke him out before this can occur.

Tonying Legend vs. David "Green Beast" Kappa

Co-Main Event!

Keeping the theme of highly trainer professionals with a relative lack of fights under their belts are Legend and "Green Beast" Kappa. Both men have been fighting the cream of the HWP crop of late and it is only fitting that the two men meet up for a free-for-all. Legend is slightly outmatched in the ground game but with both men packing a strong striking pedigree I am not really expecting this fight to go to ground. Kappa has been surprising in the past however and does have a submission win to his name but I still expect the two to throw down in the ye olde dukes manner. This is a tough fight to predict, if you look at the people Legend has lost against you find they're the types that make up the Top 5 fighters HWP has to offer so it is difficult to say that he is not up to the task of Kappa's 4 fight win streak. I know someone is going to sleep but it is hard to say who... I'll go with Kappa because I think the recent run of decision wins means his chin is up to the task of going the distance.

Afro Samurai vs. "The Phenom" Cain Marko

Main Event!

Yes I shortened your name, suck it up princess. Widely regarded as the Greatest Of All Time, Samurai re-enters the cage against the equally devastating "Phenom" Marko. It is a rare occasion that you will see two men of this calibre in the same place at the same time, unless it is a Hall of Fame. Samurai hasn't lost in 20 fights, looking to replicate the career of the mighty Bas Rutten, whereas Marko is going 5 in a row with wins over some of the greatest fighters HWP has on its roll. What is interesting to me is that Marko's last loss came against Ruiner Barnett, a fighter Samurai has beaten 4 times in his last 6 fights. So with this in mind, despite Marko having the better skills on paper it appears that Samurai is either the superior strategist of Marko has just gotten unlucky. Which is it? Tonight should tell! Marko is the much taller man with nearly a foot of extra height, he is also an elite boxer, able to mix it up with the best and tonight he is. A ridiculously tough fight to call but with Samurai having never been knocked out in 37 professional fights my money is on him to maintain his record and take another step towards reclaiming his #1 p4p position.

That's all she wrote for previews boys and girls so let's take a look at K-Rad's Kickass Tips. Remember as always, the number following the predicted winner's name is my level of confidence. From this week however I will be making it a rating out of 5 because 10 is shit.
