COUNTDOWN TO IMMA 89
Close your eyes for a moment. Make sure you are in a quiet place and now as you’re reading this sentence, really close your eyes. Give yourself ten seconds to experience the quiet bliss as your brain starts to imagine pure blankness. As clarity starts to become itself now start visualizing crowds of people looking at you. Visualize the blood running through your veins as you move your limbs one by one. Feel your arm as now it shouldn’t have tightened and your blood is now rushing through your body. As you start to stand up, you feel indestructible. But wait, what is that smell? Did you just fart? Is that why possibly a crowd in the masses are staring at you? Don’t know but lets get to the freaking countdown!
Heavyweight Championship
Mirian Cregov vs Matt Dammon
In his debut IMMA fight Cregov had the opportunity to fight heavyweight champ Mitchell Stehling. As known underdog in the fight Cregov wanted to prove he was the dominant fighter. He did just that. Cregov landed kick after kick and mixed it up with combinations and he even almost ended the fight in the second round. But shortly in the third round came the kick and upset of the year. “I was shocked. I mean if the round was 10 seconds longer it could’ve been over then. But that third round kick was nasty. That kicked could’ve been a 60 yard field goal” – Mega Jug
Going into this fight Cregov faces another top heavyweight, a knockout artist himself Matt Dammon. Dammon’s only loss comes by former champ Stehling but all but two of wins are via knockout. Cregov having 18 KO victories and Dammon having 16 KO victories you know this fight is not going the distance. Dammon having KO’ed former champ Alexsi Borga bumped him up as #1 contender for the hw title. This matchup produces a elite muai thai practitioner vs a very dangerous boxer. Cregov being the smaller of the two will probably use his speed to get in and out of range to deliver his vicious kicks. The question is will Dammon be able counter at the right time to deliver one of his heavy blows?
Prediction – If Cregov can slow down Dammon with kicks then we will see a head kick Crocop style. Cregov wins in the third via KO
Lightweight Championship
Johan Herberg vs Seppo Taalasmaa
Herberg steps inside the cage once again to fight highly talented Seppo in a fight for the world championship. Herberg being the standup fighter he comes in with 16 KO victories to defend the IMMA belt as Seppo comes in with 12 submission wins and being the better ground fighter. Out of the two fighters Seppo has more experience and is currently ranked #4 in the tycoon standings. This being the classic stand up versus ground game fight the question is will Herberg be able to defend the takedowns and wear out Seppo to get a KO?
Herberg has already shown his class after beating top declared fighter Rashard Jackson and Mr Green and now wants to solidify himself in the tycoon rankings. With a win over Seppo he will no doubt enter the top 10 in the lightweight class. Seppo on the other hand wants to not only win the IMMA belt but climb into top 3 and no doubtly face Ed Gein or Boris Cekada. Seppo being the lighter fighter of the two will probably use his speed and his incredibly long limbs to get his submission. But if hes not careful it can be a quick lights as Herberg packs a powerful punch.
Prediction – Seppo will probably wear out Herberg and pound out a decision win.
