Two days after returning from Amsterdam, the HERO crew is back at it again, this time from the familiar confines of the Hard Knocks Arena in Helsinki. Our main event features Boyko Borisov putting his Heavyweight championship and five fight winning streak on the line. One of those five wins were against tonight's challenger, Jake James, who will be looking for revenge.

Let's head inside the cage and check out the action.

HERO 35: Borisov vs James II

Prelims

Heavyweight Division:  Enrique Alvarez vs Roy Nelson

In what has to be some kind of record, Roy Nelson took down his opponent an amazing seventeen times in this bout. Without fail, he would give up the top position, stand up, and do it again. While it prevented him from getting a finish, it clearly impressed the judges. Result: Nelson by unanimous decision

Light Heavyweight Division: Josh Griggs vs Dielange Lamzak

Lamzak's gameplan was clear in this one: all kicks. He connected with an amazing eight head kicks, as well as six leg kicks to keep things off balance. Griggs desperately tried without success to get the fight to the mat, but eventually a huge head kick followed by a flurry of punches forced the ref to step in. Result: Lamzak by 1st round TKO (Kick and Punches)

Middleweight Division: Bingo Steel vs Paul ed

Paul ed only needed one devastating combo to put this one in the books. Five seconds into the fight, he countered a missed shot by Steel with such force that the ref was jumping in not long after this one began. Result: ed by 1st round TKO (Strikes)

Welterweight Division: Ollilan Jorma vs Rizvan Abdurashidov

Jorma took this fight into the clinch early and unleashed a barrage of sharp elbows and well placed knees. He had Abdurashidov cut up pretty good after the first few minutes. About three and a half minutes in, Abdurashidov was rocked and bleeding, so when Jorma connected with a big knee to the head, it was lights out. Result: Jorma by 1st round KO (Knee)

Main Card

Light Heavyweight Division: Key Chain vs Dirk Damon

The first two rounds were controlled by Dirk Damon. He got the clinch and threw knee after knee. Not a lot landed, but his high activity level won him the rounds. Chain knew he needed a finish in the third and he almost got it, rocking Damon in the third. However, Damon survived to squeak out a tight victory. Result: Damon by unanimous decision

Welterweight Division: Chuck Vogelpohl vs Teemu Yumma

Vogelpohl probably squeaked out a win in the first round, but from there on out, things were all Teemu Yumma. His versatile clinch game, which incorporated punches, elbows, and knees, wore down his opponent. Late in the third, a knee rocked Vogelpohl. Yumma kept busy with some punches and then used another knee to crack Chuck and convince the ref to step in. Result: Yumma by 3rd round TKO (Knee)

Light Heavyweight Division: Gustav Tedvik vs Leeanne Marie

Tedvik's selective boxing was more effective than Marie's all out attack in this one. His persistence with takedowns also allowed him to get the fight to the mat, where he effectively controlled the action and won over the favor of the judges. Result: Tedvik by unanimous decision

Co-Main Event

Heavyweight Division: Sega Genesis vs Clarence Adams

Genesis wanted a submission in this one, so it really hurt him when Adams stuffed an incredible 27 takedown attempts in the six and a half minutes of fighting. Keeping the fight standing allowed Adams to demonstrate his boxing prowess, which culminated in a leaping left hook that knocked Genesis out cold. Result: Adams by 2nd round KO (Punch)

Main Event

HERO Heavyweight Championship: Boyko Borisov vs Jake James

The last time they fought, Borisov KO'd James before he could attempt a single takedown. Things appeared headed that way again this time, as Borisov cut James early. However, James was able to keep his cool and get the takedown. On the ground, he worked his way into mount and used effective ground and pound to wear down and eventually finish the champ. Result: James by 1st round TKO (Strikes)

Post Fight Press Conference

AJ Nex congratulated James on becoming the new heavyweight champion and formally announced the next international HERO event. HERO St Petersburg will take place on October 24.

He concluded the presser by handing out the night's awards:

KO of the Night: Ollilan Jorma

Sub of the Night: none

Fight of the Night: Chuck Vogelpohl vs Teemu Yumma

HERO will be celebrating Thanksgiving Canadian style, with a card on Thanksgiving weekend. The exact date of Thanksgiving Brawl is October 6. The card will feature Todorov vs Pikkarainen for the featherweight title and Pacquiao vs McDaniels in an elite bantamweight showdown.
