After one busy weekend, the world’s fastest rising MMA organization, Survival of the Fittest proudly presents SOTF 13: Money Power Respect, an event that will be held on Sunday the 7th of October 2012, live from the Credit Card Center arena in New York, and as always this event will be presented to you in association with our merchandise partners, Canadian Fighter Clothing. Headlining SOTF 13 will be the light-heavyweight bout between Jose Duran and Prime Time. Now let’s get our fight per fight preview started:   Charlie Manson v Ryan De Pury In the light-heavyweight division, 25 year old proficient boxer and wrestler Charlie Manson will be making his promotional debut after winning 2 of his first 3 professional bouts. Welcoming him in his new organization will be 28 year old remarkable wrestler Ryan De Pury who won his own promotional debut by defeating Angel Rivera at SOTF 6, and he shares the same career record (2-1) with his opponent. While Manson’s superior boxing will give him the advantage on his feet, De Pury will be looking to take the fight to the mat and utilize his wrestling to earn his second SOTF win    Dmitry Petrenko v Albert Desalvo We move down to the lightweight division, where 26 year old Canadian exceptional Muay Thai fighter and BJJ purple belt Dmitry Petrenko will be making his 3rd promotional appearance. After suffering from a submission defeat at the hands of Julio Silva in his debut at SOTF 4, he rebounded well by earning the ‘’knockout of the night’’ award at SOTF 8 after finishing  William Cockburn in just 8 seconds. On the opposing corner of the cage will be 33 year old BJJ black belt and Boston’s own Albert Desalvo who will be making his SOTF debut. This man is a veteran of the sport, and has got 8 of his 11 career wins via submissions. This will be a real stylistic battle between the striker and the grappler   Gus Shamrock v Circle Jerk Back to the light-heavyweight division. 25 year old Greek respectable wrestler and BJJ purple belt Gus Shamrock is starting to earn a reputation for being a real submission artist after submitting his first two career opponents, including Mark Calahan at SOTF 8 during his promotional debut. On the other hand, 20 year old sensational boxer Circle Jerk will be appearing for the third time in the organization after losing to Micheal David at SOTF 3 and then beating Trequan Adam at SOTF 5. It is obvious where both fighters strength and weaknesses lay, as Shamrock is the superior fighter on the ground, while Jerk will be looking to stay on his feet and knock his opponent out   Tommy Fire v Unigu Rege In another lightweight bout, two fighters will collide in their respective second promotional appearance and will be gunning for a second SOTF win. 23 year old superb Jamaican wrestler Tommy Fire had a rough start in his professional career, but has now improved his game and had a great debut here in the organization, providing the upset against Charlie Luciano at SOTF 6. Meanwhile, 24 year old Finnish superb wrestler and BJJ purple belt Unige Rege had a great debut as well, beating Diego Nunes at SOTF 7. While the two fighters’ wrestling abilities are even, Rege’s superior grappling as well as his striking will make him the favorite to win this one.    Vincenzo Calliente v Chris Rudd Our next bout is in the welterweight division. 34 year old wonderful boxer and BJJ brown belt Vincenzo Calliente has more SOTF wins than anyone, beating his first four opponents in the organization, and now hopes to add one more win that makes him even closer for a title shot. On the other hand, 33 year old sensational boxer and BJJ brown belt Chris Rudd didn’t have such a smooth debut here in the organization, losing to Ce Ca at SOTF 7, but now hopes to prove his true worth in his second SOTF fight. With two crafty veterans battling it out for a very important win, anything can happen, especially since the two fighters’ abilities almost mirror each others.   Kazuyuki Shimizu v Rikki Tavarius In the middleweight division, two wonderful strikers and BJJ purple belts will collide. 24 year old Japanese sensational boxer Kazuyki Shimizu made a successful promotional debut, defeating Dante Santiago at SOTF 2 and will be looking forward to continue his rise to the top of the 185 ladder possibly with another KO victory, as 8 of his 9 career wins came via (T)KOs and ended up earning the ‘’knockout of the night award’’ three times. Meanwhile, 28 year old exceptional boxer and Seattle’s own Rikki Tavarius will be making his SOTF debut, the former ONI light-heavyweight champion is currently on a roll, winning his 6 last bouts. So with the two fighters almost being mere images of each others, will Shimizu’s slightly better boxing be the deciding factor in this one? or will Tavarius’ experience enable him to snatch the win?   The Flash v Sasha Petrova In the welterweight division, 23 year old sensational Muay Thai fighter and exceptional wrestler The flash is already a fan favorite here in SOTF, earning the ‘’fight of the night’’ award for both of his promotional bouts, when he defeated Alexander Popov at SOTF 5 and then when he was submitted by Blaise Lamont at SOTF 10, and he will be now looking to get back to his winning ways possibly with his 7th career TKO. His opponent this time will be 31 year old Canadian sensational boxer and exceptional wrestler Sasha Petrova who will be making his SOTF debut after traveling around in his long eventful career and combining an impressive professional record of 21-12. While both fighters are almost even in the striking and wrestling departments, Petrova’s reach advantage as well as his superior grappling could be the crucial factors that could decide the fight in favor of the veteran   Howard Moon v Hezekiah Stoltfus ime for the heavyweights folks. Two former champions will battle it out for five rounds. 28 yer old English sensational striker and exceptional wrestler Howard Moon didn’t waste too much time in his promotional debut, finishing his opponent Marby Arcade at SOTF 9 in just over two minutes, but now the former AD heavyweight champion will be facing another tough challenge in his way. 30 year old sensational boxer and wrestler and BJJ black belt Hezkiah Stoltfus is the former CW LA heavyweight champion and will now be hoping to introduce himself to the SOTF crowd with a bang. While moon is clearly the better Muay Thai practitioner of the two, Stoltfus just seems to be the one who has the edge in the rest of the departments, and with both fighters sponsoring 12 (T)KO wins on their records, will one of them be getting his 13th?   Jose Duran v Prime Time In our main event of the evening, two of the best light-heavyweights in New York will collide in their respective second SOTF appearances hoping for a second win here in the organization. 23 year old exceptional striker and remarkable wrestler Jose Duran is the former NAF light-heavyweight champion and he made his promotional debut here in the organization by knocking out Eugene Bradley Burns at SOTF 9 with an impressive head kick. On the other corner of the cage will be 31 year old superb striker and elite wrestler Prime Time who earned the ‘’fight of the night’’ award in his debut against Junior Silva at SOTF 8. Time is the former HWP heavyweight champion and has earned 12 of his 17 wins by (T)KOs. While Duran is the superior striker, Time’s elite wrestling will help him dominate the bout if he can take the fight to the ground. So who will win this super fight? The striker or the wrestler?
