HWP300: Prime vs. Yrttiseppa! PREVIEW

Perhaps as punishment for not submitting a preview last week, that jerk CBD has forced me to run this event through the old 'event helper' in order to determine which fight will be ordered where. Then, I bet he puts in another fight and ruins everything. Jerk. Anyhow, this week to date we are looking at Prime vs. Yrttiseppa, another pain in the arse name to spell! Super! Plenty of your favourites are on the card so let's take a look at who is doing what to who and throw out some tips to help you bitches get rich.

"Quick" Recksun vs. "Epic Beard Man" Bruso

First things first, Bruso's beard is far from epic. Y'hear? Unless he has an arse beard, with beads and plaits and maybe even some ribbons and bells, I am not impressed. What I expect to be more impressive is his effort in the upcoming fight against "Quick" Recksun. Bruso holds the striking aces and poor Recksun, despite winning his last 2 fights, has sod all morale coming into this bout. At 35 years old, perhaps it is just a mid life crisis, maybe if he wins this fight he will use his bonus to buy a convertible or a Harley or something else equally cliche. Unfortunately for Recksun, I don't see him winning this fight. I think the bigger Bruso is going to redeem the loss in his last appearance with some heavy hands and take out the KO.

James "Kakelberg" Dille vs. Roman "The Professor" Petkovic

Next up we have "Kakelberg" Dille taking on "The Professor" Petkovic in the former fighters first appearance with the organisation. Petkovic has been looking good of late so he will be keen to make it a less than pleasant welcome for Dille who is going to want to get heavy on the hands early in this fight if he wants to avoid death by red belt. With similar weights and Petkovic being 10cm taller, he may have a chance of keeping up long enough to do this but I think that "The Professor" has the wrestling to do this and whether he unleashes GNP or submissions I feel he has what it takes takes to claim the win, despite a tendency for his chin to give out within the first minute or so of a fight. I'm certainly not confident but I am going with a Petkovic submission win as Dille hasn't shown the explosiveness you'd expect in recent fights.

Itsanin Vasion vs. "Uncle Billy" William Tecumseh Sherman

Super Heavyweight. Co-Main Event!

The co-main event sees the only SHW bout of the night as newbies Vasion and Sherman look to build up a solid fan base. Vasion has showcased hugely entertaining kickboxing skills in the past but now that he has stepped up to the big leagues of HWP he will truly be tested as to his abilities. Sherman for his part has won his last 3 fights with HWP so he knows about the pressure of the big leagues. With both men being all about the standup this should be a great fight for the striking fanatics. They're more or less equally matched so this will come down to chin tenacity and with both men at 1 KO loss a piece it is difficult to separate them. Being a Camp Zyd vs. Camp Footpenis bout just makes it even more exciting. I like to tip Sherman to win this, just because he isn't Zyd's fighter but that Vasion knows how to unleash a mean head kick so I am putting my money on him to win via KO.

"The Destroyer " Prime vs. "The Meatgrinder" Yrttiseppa

Main Event!

I am going to have to start grinding my axe against Finns if these names keep up. Nearly as bad as the Poles. With that said, the quality of the fighters are not to be sneezed at and with "The Destroyer" Prime taking on "The Meatgrinder" Yrttiseppa we should see an interesting fight between two well rounded fighters that definitely prefer opposite aspects of cage fighting. Prime is a standup man, keep to bang whereas "The Meatgrinder" is the type of guy you don't want dating your daughter, a ground and pound professional. Riding a 9 fight win streak, Yrttiseppa knows how to drop bombs, it is just a matter of whether or not he can give himself an opportunity to do so as Prime's takedown defense is quite good. This is a tough fight to call but I expect it to be decided one way or another within the first 2 minutes or so of the bell ringing and I am going to back Prime to turn around a 3 fight losing streak with a KO win.

That's that then. Very close competition here tonight but to try to make the gambling side easier for you here are K-Rad's Kickass(?) Tips:

Vennamo vs. II: II (5)

Li vs. Crichton: Li (3)

Daddy vs. Pendragon: Daddy (5)

Assassin vs. Shooter: Assassin (5)

Vasion vs. Sherman: Vasion (3)

Prime vs. Yrttiseppa: Prime (1)

Gaston vs. Jackson: Jackson (4)

Recksun vs. Bruso: Bruso (5)
