Panter Ready For Bigger Things!

Fighter profile of Dave Panter by

Heavyweight Dave "8 Pint" Panter had his first MMA fight June 21st. He started with a bang, knocking Andrzej Michaski out cold at the 4:24 mark in the first round. Just one month later Panter followed his impressive debut with another first round KO, this time over Lucifer Dael (1-0 at the time). Dael lasted only 1:37! It looked like Dave panter was on his way.

Then it happened. Panters manager took a powder! After a 2-0 start with two first round KO's, Panter was left high and dry, with no one to lean on to get him fights, sponsors, or any of the other help that a young fighter needs. Three long months go by with nothing happening for this talented young fighter. He must have wondered if hw was ever going to fight again. Then, in early October, Panter got his break. New fight manager Mike Dixon saw this "young gun" and new he wanted him in his stable. Panter needed a manager in the worse way, and Dixon loved what he saw in Panter. A marriage made in fighters heaven!

It didn't take long for Dixon to realize he had made the right move. On October 21st Panter stepped back in the cage for the first time in three long months. The result? What else? His third consecutive first round knockout, this time over Jared Hart! Hart was easily the most experianced fighter Panter had faced. He had 10 fights under his belt, including a title fight in July of this year. Many "experts" thought Dixon had made a mistake when he took the fight. One manager went as far as saying "Dixon is too enexperienced. Panter has no business in the cage with Hart!" At 3:15 of round one Panter threw a three punch combination...Straight left, right hook, left upercut...that changed a lot of minds! In an interview after the fight Dixon said, "Dave is ready for bigger and better things. This kid trains as hard as anyone I've ever seen, and he has a lot of natural talent to go along with the hard work he puts in. Dave Panter is a future champion...I guarantee it!"

Less than a week later Panter had signed with the Valhalla Fight Org. On November 9th he fights Roy DeMeo at "Valhalla: Hilo 19". The future looks as bright as the Texas sun for this young man, and from everything I've seen it's a future he deserves!
