Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Karl Hungus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mad Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hungus comes to the cage accompanied by Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

23 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Hungus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mad Dog! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dog cracks a nice hook into Hungus's ribs. Dog lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. A nice combination there by Hungus.
It looks like Mad Dog has been cut. Dog shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hungus pinned against the cage. Hungus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dog shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hungus is trying to defend but Dog finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. This has been an exciting period of action! Hungus is refusing to be controlled, as Dog sits in half guard. Hungus works his way to full guard. Good work. Dog trying to control but Hungus is working from the bottom. Hungus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hungus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dog sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hungus stuffs the takedown. Dog has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Karl Hungus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mad Dog. Dog shoots for a takedown but Hungus saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Hungus shoots in but Dog avoids the takedown attempt easily. Dog fails miserably with a takedown attempt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hungus gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dog to score an easy takedown into full guard. Hungus is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dog defends well. Hungus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dog doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dog manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hungus wants to get back to his feet but Dog is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dog would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Dog is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Dog drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hungus looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hungus looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hungus! Hungus wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dog, who protects the arm well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hungus is working Dog over with some ground and pound from side control. Hungus trying to control the action but Dog is working from the bottom. Dog is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dog explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Dog tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hungus defends well and Dog ends up having to push Hungus into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Dog wants to get back to striking at distance but Hungus won't allow it.
Dog being controlled against the cage. Our sources have told us that Hungus has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. A quick uppercut on the inside from Hungus. Hungus digs a right hand underneath Dog's ribcage. Dog let out a lung full of air as it connected. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hungus misses with a hook from the clinch. Hungus is working Dog over against the cage. Hungus gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Dog has his foot on Hungus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hungus works his way back into a safe position though. Hungus lands a couple of decent looking shots. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hungus connects with a couple of short punches. Dog wants to sweep here but Hungus controlling him for the moment. Dog working a defensive guard but Hungus passes into half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Karl Hungus will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Mad Dog's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Karl Hungus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hungus cracks Dog with a solid left hand. Dog had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hungus defends it easily. Hungus scoring with some ground and pound. Hungus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dog is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Dog looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hungus has picked Dog up and slammed him! Dog can't keep hold of the triangle and Hungus manages to pass to side control! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dog takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Hungus lands a nice forearm strike. Dog is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hungus off and has taken his back! Dog looking to break Hungus's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Hungus remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Dog will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Hungus is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dog gets his way!

Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hungus. Hungus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dog has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hungus has managed to get both his arms back between Dog's legs - danger averted. Hungus throws a big right hand that misses. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Hungus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dog is defended easily by Hungus. Hungus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hungus wants it to stay on the feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hungus. Hungus manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dog on his heels. He'll look to pass Dog's guard now, I'm sure. Hungus is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hungus lands a couple of decent looking shots. Dog pushes a forearm under Hungus's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hungus is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

A very excited looking Mad Dog made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

Laane wants to stand but Tavarius is controlling the position. Tavarius is standing up over Laane. Laane looks to escape but Tavarius dives into side control.

Tavarius lands some shots froms side control. Tavarius controls the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tavarius tries to move into full mount but can't pass Laane's legs. Tavarius controls the position. Laane is pushing Tavarius's head away, looking to escape. Tavarius manages to hold on to the position though. Laane bucks up and tries to throw Tavarius off but instead Tavarius has got his back! A helpless look comes across Laane 's face. He knows he's trapped as Tavarius lands a series of unanswered strikes. The ref steps in to stop the fight and this one is in the books!

Wilkins lands with an uppercut that bounces Benito off the cage and back into range. Wilkins shoots in for a takedown but Benito shows good takedown defense. Amorsolo Benito has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Wilkins. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Benito misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wilkins walks into a left hand. Wilkins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Benito sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wilkins somewhat.

Benito shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wilkins eats them both and turns towards Benito to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
