1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Voljin Darkspear! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Darkspear fails with the takedown and Moriga counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Darkspear wants to improve his position but Moriga is controlling well.
Moriga passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Darkspear! Moriga landing shots from mount. Moriga lands a couple of good shots and Darkspear has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Moriga is landing with strikes. Darkspear can't take much more of this. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Darkspear trying to control but not successfully. Darkspear avoids the strikes from Moriga. Moriga landing with strikes. Darkspear rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round. Darkspear has hold of Moriga's hands but Moriga slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Darkspear is trying to control but can't.
Moriga looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Moriga throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Moriga wants to pass to mount but Darkspear is defending the position. Darkspear is trying to maintain the position but Moriga is very close to passing his half guard. Darkspear keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Moriga is thwarting Darkspear's attempts to control the position.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Voljin Darkspear wasn't active enough on the ground. Darkspear has his takedown stuffed and Moriga counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Moriga is working Darkspear over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Moriga trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Darkspear has momentary wrist control but Moriga slips an elbow through the middle. Darkspear looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Moriga tries to free his leg and advance position but Darkspear is retaining full guard. Moriga throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Darkspear works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Moriga distracts Darkspear with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Moriga preventing the sweep. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Moriga trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Moriga postures up.
Moriga working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Darkspear's head. Darkspear pulls Moriga in close to prevent any damage. Moriga in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Moriga landing with the ground and pound. Moriga looking to pass the guard. Darkspear trying to control the position.
Moriga wants to pass the guard but Darkspear is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Darkspear bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moriga's guard. Darkspear passes Moriga's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Darkspear is looking for a kimura here.
Darkspear looks winded! Moriga wants to get back to his feet. Moriga on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Moriga tries to get out of the position. Moriga kicks Darkspear off and gets back to his feet. No joy there for Moriga, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Moriga scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Darkspear misses with a takedown and Moriga counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Moriga. Derek Moriga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Voljin Darkspear. This has been an exciting period of action! Darkspear trying to keep a closed guard but Moriga is proving a slippery customer.
Moriga looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Darkspear bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moriga's guard. Moriga wants to get back to his feet but Darkspear is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Darkspear stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moriga swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darkspear takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Moriga uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Darkspear has time to react. Darkspear fails with the takedown and Moriga counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Darkspear's guard now. Darkspear is adopting a defensive guard. Moriga pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Darkspear is keeping the position for now. Moriga postures up.
Moriga wants to pass the guard but Darkspear is keeping the position. Moriga might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Darkspear looking to control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Moriga passes easily into side control. Nice work. Darkspear taking punishment in the form of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Darkspear taking a bit of punishment here - Moriga scoring with strikes. Moriga tries to advance to mount but Darkspear denies him. Darkspear dodges the ground and pound from Moriga. Darkspear parries the strikes from Moriga easily there. Moriga is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Darkspear to escape.
Moriga works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Darkspear is rocked! A big shot lands for Moriga! That's hurt Darkspear! Will he recover? Moriga fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice jab there from Hunter. Brown on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Hunter throws a quick inside leg kick. A solid leg kick lands there for Hunter.
Hunter connects with a looping right hand.
Brown takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. This has been an exciting period of action! Brown misses the body punch and Hunter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Brown is rocked! Brown misses with a straight right. Oh Brown is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Look low, kick high! Hunter uses the oldest trick in the book to send Brown tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Hunter is absolutely delighted - when Brown wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

A very excited looking Herb Hunter made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pinto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Golotowski to the mat! Golotowski manages to get full guard. Golotowski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Golotowski looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Pinto throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Golotowski has momentary wrist control but Pinto slips an elbow through the middle. We've been hearing good reports from Golotowski's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Pinto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pinto throws a big right hand that misses. Golotowski keeping moving, preventing Pinto from controlling successfully. Pinto in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Pinto slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Pinto controls the position. It looks like Pinto might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Pinto has hold of Golotowski's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Golotowski tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Pinto cranks the arm and Golotowski screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Golotowski, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

The fight stays on the outside here - Payne looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nolan jabs Payne to the body, keeping him at a distance. Nolan swats away the attempt to clinch by Payne. Payne stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Nolan. Payne uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Nolan. Nolan blocks a jab. Nolan thuds his right hand into Payne's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nolan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Oscar Payne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Payne takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Payne has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Imperium MMA Gym(4 Sprbt 4*+)(15 Coach)$850 in the buildup to the fight. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Payne, right into the meat.
Payne turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Nolan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Payne. Payne circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Nolan lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Payne throws a jab but it's blocked by Nolan. Nolan throws a nice looking combination but Payne bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nolan lands a head shot. Payne bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Nolan's head. Payne delivers a nice body kick. Nolan is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Payne. Nolan throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nolan on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Payne looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Payne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nolan, as that shot connected.

and Payne counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Payne throws a jab but it's blocked by Nolan. Payne avoids the head kick by Nolan.
Payne delivers a nice body kick. Payne seems to have got his legs back now. Nolan looks winded! A big right from Payne misses. Payne uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nolan. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nolan is trying to break the clinch but Payne is controlling him. Payne pushes off an throws an elbow but Nolan leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Knees in the clinch landing for Payne.
Nolan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Nolan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Payne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nolan tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Payne takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Payne lands a head kick. Nolan smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Nolan tries a head kick but it misses.
Payne throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nolan's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nolan throws a looping overhand right but Payne ducks down to avoid it. Payne throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Payne closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Payne tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nolan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nolan looks to land a body kick but Payne moved away. Payne tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nolan was well out of range. Poor timing from Payne. Nolan throws a head kick that misses. Payne lands with a good body shot. Nolan jabs Payne right on the nose. Payne blinks but takes it well. Payne tries to clinch there but Nolan circles away.
Payne throws a combination that misses letting Nolan counter with a right hand. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Payne works the jab nicely. Payne thumps Nolan with a low kick. Payne tries to clinch up but Nolan circles away and keeps his distance. Payne slips a straight right by Nolan. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Oscar Payne will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Payne is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Payne throws a front kick that sends Nolan stumbling back into the cage. Payne lands a leg kick that knocks Nolan off balance momentarily. Payne fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nolan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Nolan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Payne slips a jab from Nolan. Nolan cracks Payne with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Nolan has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Payne to stand back up! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nolan misses the shot to the body. Oscar Payne is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. It's a brutal combination of punches from Nolan! Payne is backing up but he can't get away as Nolan lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Payne and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Volga Overstreet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Mlodzinski. Overstreet with a body punch. A glancing blow. Mlodzinski tries for a takedown but Overstreet circles away easily and Overstreet counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mlodzinski's knee momentarily. Mlodzinski looks winded! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mlodzinski chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Overstreet can pounce on him.

Overstreet looks to land a body kick but Mlodzinski moved away. Mlodzinski walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Mlodzinski shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Overstreet counters with a slapping leg kick. Mlodzinski misses with a takedown attempt enabling Overstreet to counter with a crisp jab. Overstreet has taken the fight to the clinch.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. This has been an exciting period of action! Overstreet gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Overstreet seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mlodzinski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Overstreet lands a nice hook to Mlodzinski's body. Mlodzinski takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Mlodzinski shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Overstreet counters with a head kick. That will keep Mlodzinski thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
