The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vallely lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bowen circles away quickly and effectively. Nice shot by Vallely. Vallely fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mike Vallely seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vallely tries to land a leg kick but Bowen saw it coming and moves away.
Vallely gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bowen to score an easy takedown into full guard. Bowen trying to control the position from guard on top but Vallely is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bowen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vallely swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bowen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Vallely drops Bowen with a left right combo! Vallely follows him down to the ground into side control.
It looks like Brodie Bowen has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The strikes coming from Vallely are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Vallely stands up. Bowen misses with a takedown attempt - Vallely sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Bowen looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Vallely works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. The fighters circling - Vallely throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Vallely with a body punch. A glancing blow. Vallely tries to clinch but Bowen is having none of it. Vallely sizes up Bowen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Vallely throws a series of punches but Bowen avoids them all with ease. Bowen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Vallely wants to clinch. Bowen takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A jab from Vallely does it's job there. Bowen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vallely finds it's way round the side to connect with Bowen's head. A jab from Vallely does it's job there. Vallely lands a really nice looking cross but Bowen seems unphased.
Bowen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Bowen is rocked! Vallely drops Bowen with a huge uppercut! Bowen drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Vallely is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wayne ducks under a wild hook from Calzone. Calzone scores with the left hand. Wayne knows he should have avoided that one. Calzone cracks a nice hook into Wayne's ribs. A swing and a miss from Calzone. Calzone lands a jab-cross combination. Calzone lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Wayne takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Calzone smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Wayne is breathing heavily. Calzone uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wayne has time to react. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Calzone scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Calzone rushes Wayne and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Calzone breaks from the clinch.
Wayne shoots for a double leg takedown but Calzone sprawls well. He's pushed Wayne's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Calzone. Wayne trying to remain calm as Calzone controls from the top position. Wayne prevents Calzone from moving into mount. Calzone works to advance to full mount. Wayne defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Calzone is landing with some decent strikes but Wayne is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Calzone looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calzone sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Despite being in the dominant position, Herbus Calzone just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wayne walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
It looks like jason Wayne has been cut. Wayne has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Wayne there as he acknowledges the shot. Wayne uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Calzone. Calzone throws out a loose jab but Wayne uses good head movement to avoid it. Calzone might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Calzone thuds a left hand into Wayne's body. Wayne checks a leg kick. A nice combination there by Calzone.

That's three minutes gone in the round. An inside leg kick from Calzone misses. Calzone lands with a right hand. Wayne moves forwards but Calzone connects with a nice, crisp jab. Wayne takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Left hook, right uppercut from Calzone. Calzone drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wayne is trying to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calzone landing a few strikes. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wayne tries to bench press Calzone off him but Calzone keeps the position. Calzone lands a decent elbow from side control. Wayne seems a little lost for a moment, as Calzone dominates the positioning. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wayne walks into a left hand. jason Wayne is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Calzone throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wayne stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Wayne stuffs the takedown attempt from Calzone. Calzone gets slowly back to his feet. Wayne takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Calzone throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Calzone lands with a hook. Wayne tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Calzone bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wayne's head. Calzone tries to land a leg kick but Wayne saw it coming and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Calzone closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Calzone sitting and controlling from the half guard. Calzone frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Calzone tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Calzone pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Calzone controlling from mount. Wayne is trying to escape the mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calzone sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Calzone trying to control but he's not successful this time. Calzone takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Calzone wants to pass the guard but Wayne is defending well. Wayne is refusing to be controlled, as Calzone sits in half guard. Wayne wants to control but Calzone is keeping busy and won't allow it. Calzone with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Calzone throws a looping overhand right but Wayne ducks down to avoid it. Calzone getting the better of the striking in that exchange. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Herbus Calzone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on jason Wayne's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Calzone jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wayne walks away with a smile on his face. Calzone gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Calzone looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wayne looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Calzone fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wayne. Wayne darts in and clinches Calzone up against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Calzone has had enough of the clinch but Wayne keeps him there for the moment. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Wayne looking for a takedown. Calzone wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wayne has him pressed against the cage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Calzone pulls guard. Calzone is pulling down on Wayne's head. It's preventing any offense from Wayne, at least for the moment. Wayne throws a strike but Calzone rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calzone is looking to advance position but Wayne has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Wayne is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Calzone has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Calzone! Herbus Calzone has got the better of the ground game so far. Wayne has his foot on Calzone's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Calzone works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Calzone slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Calzone trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Calzone must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Calzone stays in close to Wayne's body and controls the position. Wayne really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wayne wants to sweep but no luck. Calzone slips nicely into half guard. Calzone wants to control but Wayne is keeping him busy.

Calzone with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Calzone has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Wayne actively working from the bottom here. Calzone controlling the action here. Herbus Calzone is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Wayne wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Calzone trying to control the pace.

Wayne takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Calzone connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wayne. Wayne circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Calzone throws an overhand right that lands on Wayne's shoulder, as Wayne tries to avoid the shot. Calzone pivots, looking for a leg kick but Wayne is out of range and Calzone settles back down. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nice cross by Calzone. A punch lands to the side of Wayne 's head but he takes it in his stride. Calzone moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. jason Wayne has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Calzone cracks a nice hook into Wayne's ribs.
And that's the end of the fight! Herbus Calzone comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Calzone winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, David Nail! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Backstrom wants to clinch up but Nail keeps it at a distance. Nail changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Backstrom tries to avoid it but Nail manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Backstrom to the ground. Backstrom escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Nail throws a head kick that misses. Nail is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Backstrom's half guard. Backstrom is defending against the submission attempts here by Nail.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nail drops back, looking for a kneebar! Backstrom looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Backstrom looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Backstrom! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Backstrom is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nail knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Backstrom is trying to get an arm triangle but Nail is defending well. Nail is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Backstrom looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nail with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nail wants to control but Backstrom is keeping busy.

Nail has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Backstrom is working away from the top position though. Backstrom not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Backstrom wants to work for an arm triangle but Nail is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Backstrom thows a huge punch but Nail dodges it nicely.
Nail is looking to escape. Backstrom looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nail tries to bum rush Backstrom with a series of wild strikes but Backstrom uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nail bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Backstrom is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Nail off and has taken his back! Backstrom misses with a punch to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Backstrom is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Nail knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Nail for a finish. Backstrom not allowing Nail to control his hands. Nail is in bad spot here.
