The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lo moves away from the strike by Ibanez. Lo throws a head kick that misses. Lo gets in close and instigates a clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lo takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Ibanez wants to break free but Lo has control.
Ibanez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Lo lands a nice shot to the body. Ibanez blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Ibanez can't find room to land a body shot as Lo controls the action.
Ibanez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ibanez blocks a jab. Lo tries to clinch but Ibanez moves out of range. Ibanez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lo swats him away and circles back towards the center. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No joy there for Ibanez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Ibanez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ibanez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lo moves away. Lo clinches up with Ibanez and pushes him back against the cage. Ibanez lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lo or not. Ibanez looking to slow down the pace here. A hook to the body from Ibanez.
A short left from Ibanez. Lo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lo keeps the fight on the outside. Ibanez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lo to score with a decent uppercut. Ibanez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Lo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ibanez throws a body punch but Lo moves out of range. Lo moves into range and clinches up with Ibanez. Lo misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ibanez can't find room to land a body shot as Lo controls the action.

Lo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lo tries to clinch but Ibanez is having none of it. Ibanez tests Lo's chin there with a solid looking shot. Ibanez just misses with a punch to the body.
The fighters circling - Ibanez throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Lo is looking to clinch but Ibanez is avoiding it.
A punch combination from Ibanez misses. We've been told by Ibanez's head coaches at House Of Pain that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Lo throws a wild body kick that Ibanez sees coming a mile off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lo scores with a hook. Lo clinches. Lo cracks Ibanez with a nice body shot. A short left from Ibanez. Lo stalling in the clinch.
Lo is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Ibanez has a couple of punches blocked by Lo.

A head punch on the inside from Lo fails to land. Lo swings wildly with an uppercut but Ibanez uses good head movement to avoid it. Ibanez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lo gets tackled into the cage by Ibanez. Ibanez maintains the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Ibanez. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Lo lands with a left to the head.
It looks like Francisco Manuel Ibanez has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ibanez has him pressed against the cage. Lo pushes Ibanez back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Lo taking a breather. Ibanez tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Lo misses with a short punch on the inside. Ibanez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lo slips under a jab from Ibanez. Lo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lo takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Lo lands with a kick to the temple. Ibanez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Francisco Manuel Ibanez will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johann Bismark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Swano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bismark might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I Don't Care Anymore - Phil Collins. Dan Swano told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swano uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bismark.
Bismark shoots in but Swano avoids the takedown attempt easily. Swano lands with a nice combination. Bismark backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Johann Bismark has been cut. Bismark fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Swano avoids it really well and circles away. Swano connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Swano on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Bismark misses with a wild body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Swano rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bismark counters with a shoot takedown. Swano fights it but they end up in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Swano keeping moving, preventing Bismark from controlling successfully. Bismark is pushing down on Swano's leg trying to pass to half guard. Swano is fighting to maintain full guard but Bismark has managed to sneak the leg through.

Bismark is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Swano has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Swano! Bismark looking for a guillotine here but Swano defends easily.

He's managed to get a loose triangle. Swano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Swano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bismark is looking for a triangle but Swano pushes his legs off easily.

Bismark eventually gives up the hold. We've been hearing that Bismark has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Bismark is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Swano still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Swano has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Swano works his way back into a safe position though. Johann Bismark overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Swano wants to stand but Bismark has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Swano tries to get to his feet but Bismark is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Swano in his guard. Bismark had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Swano defends it easily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Swano trying to control but Bismark is working from the bottom. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Bismark looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Swano seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bismark does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Swano is trying to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Johann Bismark. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bismark, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Dun tries to work over Sanpun's front leg with a kick but Sanpun checks it. Dun takes a body punch but keeps moving. No luck for Sanpun with that takedown attempt. Xiahou Dun is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dun bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sanpun's head backwards. Dun connects with a leg kick. Sanpun looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Sanpun looks to score with a jab to the body but Dun is just out of range. Sanpun tries to clinch but Dun is having none of it. Sanpun throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dun. Sanpun jabbing away but nothing is landing. Dun blocks a jab. Dun throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Sanpun misses with a wild body shot. A big right from Sanpun misses. Sanpun stuns Dun with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A low kick from Sanpun misses and Dun counters with an outside leg kick.

Sanpun looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Sanpun gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Dun jabs Sanpun right on the nose. Sanpun blinks but takes it well. A good leg kick by Dun. Sanpun changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dun tries to avoid it but Sanpun manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dun to the ground. Dun escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sanpun throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Dun misses with a right hand and Sanpun counters with a nice body kick. A low kick from Dun misses and Sanpun counters with a thumping low kick. Sanpun tries a low kick but Dun avoids it. Xiahou Dun is winning the standup battle so far. Sanpun tries to close the distance and clinch but Dun swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dun fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Sanpun checks a low kick from Dun. Dun scoring well with a low kick there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sanpun avoids the body shot from Dun.
Dun looks to score with a jab to the body but Sanpun is just out of range. No joy there for Dun, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sanpun is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Dun rather than just go for the knockout. Sanpun ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sanpun on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Sanpun takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sanpun feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dun's calf. Sanpun fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dun manages to avoid it. Sanpun throws a body kick that misses. Sanpun shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dun manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Sanji Sanpun. I think Sanpun has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Calderon is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Calderon is pressing down on Nadir's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Oh Calderon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Nadir gets to his feet and stands over Calderon, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Calderon felt that one! Nadir unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Calderon from any more punishment!

Benton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Anderson is looking to work some ground and pound but Benton has wrist control. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Simon Phoenix! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, CJ Richards! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richards misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Phoenix looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Richards tries to move into range but Phoenix moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Simon Phoenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Phoenix throws a head kick but Richards moves out of range.
Phoenix tries to clinch but fails miserably and Richards connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Phoenix connects with an inside leg kick. Richards shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Richards was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Phoenix is trying to get back to half guard. Richards landing a few strikes. Phoenix is not in a great position here, taking some shots. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Phoenix manages to get back to half guard. Phoenix looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Phoenix wants to control but Richards is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Richards thows a huge punch but Phoenix dodges it nicely.

Richards trying to control but Phoenix is working from the bottom. Richards throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Phoenix works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Richards missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Phoenix is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Richards is aware though and is defending well. Phoenix wants to stand and escape but Richards is having none of it. Richards drops back, looking for a kneebar! Phoenix looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Phoenix looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Phoenix! Richards tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Richards tries to control but Phoenix manages to take his back. Richards is trying to break free.
Phoenix is looking to control Richards but Richards is wriggling around and keeping busy. Phoenix working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Richards is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Phoenix has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Richards taps out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quaid tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Slicer was well out of range. Poor timing from Quaid. Nice jab there from Quaid. Quaid punishes Slicer's body with a nice straight punch. Slicer throws a big shot that misses. Quaid misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Slicer.
Quaid scores with a hook to the body. Slicer takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Quaid misses with a body shot.
Douglas Quaid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slicer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Quaid slips under a jab from Slicer. Quaid darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Quaid misses with a straight right.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slicer moves out of range of the strikes. Slicer waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Quaid. Slicer connects with a high kick. Slicer fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Quaid checks it well. Slicer drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Slicer throws a sloppy head kick and Quaid moves out of range easily. Quaid throws a body punch but Slicer moves out of range. Quaid with a nice cross. Slicer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quaid punishes Slicer's body with a nice straight punch. Quaid fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Slicer manages to avoid it. Oooooh!!! Slicer has knocked Quaid down with a huge combo! Slicer steps away and waves a wobbly Quaid back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Douglas Quaid has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Quaid misses the shot to the body. Slicer takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Quaid looks to land a right hand but Slicer moved out of range. Slicer looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Quaid cracks Slicer with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Quaid throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Slicer on the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slicer fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Quaid is out of range. Quaid scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Quaid staying out of range there. Quaid throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Quaid connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Quaid moves out of range of the strikes. Slicer defending well as Quaid loads up on a big left hand. Slicer staying out of range there. Slicer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Quaid looks to land a left hand but Slicer moved out of range nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quaid is trying hard to land a takedown here. Slicer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Slicer lands a really nice looking cross but Quaid seems unphased.
Quaid jabbing away but nothing is landing. A looping hook to the body misses from Quaid. Slicer does a little dance to reset his feet. Quaid will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Slicer connects with a body shot that sends Quaid's belly button to the back. Slicer has managed to clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Slicer misses with an elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Douglas Quaid will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Douglas Quaid's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Quaid jabs at Slicer's body. Slicer tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Quaid just misses with a punch to the body.
Slicer misses with a kick to the body.
Slicer slips a straight right by Quaid. Slicer takes one to the side of the head.
Slicer throws a hook but Quaid blocks it. Douglas Quaid is winning the standup battle so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Quaid takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Horrible takedown attempt by Quaid or perhaps it was just good defense by Slicer, which made it look bad. Slicer throws a poor cross that misses
and Quaid counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Slicer is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Quaid cracks Slicer with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!
