The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Star tries to clinch up. Star tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Star shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Glorious napping and manages to drive through into side control! Star is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Glorious knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Star landing a few strikes. Glorious gets back to half guard. Star sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Glorious defending well though. Reschke tests Mendes's chin there with a solid looking shot. Reschke misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Those never looked like landing. Reschke raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Reschke's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mendes under the eye. The crowd cheers as Mendes lands an impressive looking overhand right. Reschke doesn't seem phased though. Mendes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Reschke.

Reschke lands a heavy head kick that drops Mendes. The ref tackles Reschke to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Mendes was done.

It looks like Nelson Gunn has been cut. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thug decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gunn to his feet. Gunn swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Thug. Thug drops Gunn with a big left hand and mounts him. Gunn is in big trouble!
Gunn is rocked! Thug stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Gunn is still on wobbly legs! Can Thug finish him? Thug closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Gunn out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kane is working the ground and pound. Can Fish escape? Fish trying to control the hands but Kane won't let him. Kane is punishing Fish with strikes - can he finish him?! Fish rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Shimasaki appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Austin moves to clinch but Shimasaki breaks away and Shimasaki makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Austin defending well as Shimasaki loads up on a big left hand. Shimasaki throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Austin sees it coming and avoids it easily. Austin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shimasaki misses with a body kick. Shimasaki avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Austin backing away here, and Shimasaki unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Nice sprawl there from Austin as Shimasaki shoots in. Shimasaki shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. He's got his arms around Juholt's waist but Juholt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Paniikki off to one side. Paniikki is trying hard to land a takedown here. I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
