Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tran kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Blockbuster Night Part 1. The key to victory for Andrew Tran has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Tran! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Darren Martin! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Martin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tran does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Martin passes the guard and advances to mount! Tran is wriggling around trying to escape.
Tran is working hard here to advance position. Tran in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Martin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Martin unloading with bombs! Martin has control of Tran's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tran regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin lands a heavy elbow. Martin lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Martin has hold of Tran's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tran manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Tran is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Tran takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. A nice elbow there by Martin.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin avoids the attempt from Tran to control. Martin prevents Tran from getting the reversal. A nice elbow there by Martin. Martin has control of Tran's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tran regains control of the situation pretty easily.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Martin working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Tran slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Martin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Tran is looking to control Martin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tran avoid being mounted? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darren Martin dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Martin gets a double leg takedown into Tran's guard. Tran is looking for a triangle but Martin pushes his legs off easily.
Tran looking to hit a scissor sweep but Martin is one step ahead there. Tran really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Martin trying to control but Tran is working from the bottom. Tran will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martin distracts Tran with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Martin trying to control but Tran is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Tran's head. Martin wants to control from the top but Tran keeps moving. Martin has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Tran can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Martin controls the pace.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Martin checks a leg kick nicely. Martin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tran napping and manages to drive through into side control! Martin working the head and body with strikes. Tran is looking for a sweep. Martin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Martin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Martin wants to control for a moment but Tran uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tran wants to get back to his feet. Tran avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Martin. Martin controlling the pace. Tran is trying to maintain the position but Martin is very close to passing his half guard. Tran tries to get to full guard but Martin has control of the leg.

Ground and pound from Martin. Tran wants to control but Martin is keeping busy and won't allow it. Martin trying to control from Tran's half guard. Tran has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Tran wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Martin manages to pass to side control. Martin prevents Tran from standing back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Martin works his way into side control. Martin decides to take the fight back to the feet. Tran shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Martin as he avoids it easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fight stays on the outside here - Tran looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tran tries to close the distance and clinch up but Martin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Martin pushes Tran up against the cage in a clinch. Martin lands a shot to the body. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Martin gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Tran regains guard.
Martin advances to half guard. Martin trying to control the action but Tran is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darren Martin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Tran throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Tran tries to score a power double leg takedown but Martin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tran somewhat. Martin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tran did well to prevent Martin getting side control. Martin is nestled in close to Tran, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martin slips a nice elbow through Tran's hands, connecting with Tran's forehead. Tran is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Martin scores with a couple of nice shots. Martin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tran is just riding it out for now. Martin eventually gives up the hold. Martin performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin passes to side control. Tran is looking to regain half guard here but Martin keeps moving and retains side control. Tran is looking to get back to his feet here but Martin is keeping cool and he's managed to take Tran's back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Martin is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tran is trying to remain composed but Martin is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tran tries to roll but Martin sticks to his back.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Darren Martin! Our winner, Darren Martin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. Andrew Tran spoke after the fight, saying 'Well It Wasn't My Best Fight, But I Will Train Hard To Get Back In The Game And Win My Next Fight.'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kennedy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kennedy thows a body kick. Bowles tries to catch it but that hurt him. Kennedy throws a nice looking combination but Bowles bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kennedy blocks the body kick.
Kennedy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Bowles scores with a hook to the body. Kennedy takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Bowles throws a series of punches but Kennedy moves out of range. Kennedy listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Kennedy lands with a thumping leg kick.

Kennedy throws a series of punches but Bowles moves out of range. Kennedy seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Kennedy throws a body kick that misses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A solid leg kick lands there for Kennedy.
Bowles displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kennedy throws out the jab. Kennedy avoids the head kick by Bowles.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kennedy fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bowles has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kennedy instigates a clinch. Bowles is defending well against a takedown attempt. Bowles looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kennedy has Bowles pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bowles manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Kennedy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. A battle for position here, against the cage. Kennedy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bowles is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Kennedy with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jaso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lombard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lombard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jaso can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Babel. Shalit changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Shalit throws a push kick but Babel slaps the foot to one side. Babel changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Shalit bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Babel's head. Shalit with a nice cross. Shalit swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Babel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Shalit connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Good shot there by Shalit. Babel walks straight into a right hand from Shalit - that's dropped him! Shalit jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Babel from any more punishment! Babel complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Gilad Shalit! A loyal slave to those sponsorship dollars, Gilad Shalit made sure he mentioned Voodoo Nutrition, along with how happy he was to win his fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barbu lands a jab. Smith walks into a straight right hand from Barbu. Smith blocks a jab. Smith lands a right hook to the body.
We've been told by Smith's head coaches at Fokai Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Smith scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Barbu fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Smith looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Nice uppercut lands for Barbu. That snapped Smith's head back.
Barbu has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Barbu throws a poor cross that misses
and Smith counters with a series of strikes. Barbu will be more careful next time no doubt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing. Barbu just misses with a punch to the body.
Barbu takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Barbu goes for a double leg but Smith avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Smith continues to drive forward.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Smith throws a big counter combination but Barbu scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Barbu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smith. Smith pivots, looking for a leg kick but Barbu is out of range and Smith settles back down. Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Barbu fails to land with a series of punches.
Decent striking displayed by Barbu there. Smith misses the shot to the body. Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Barbu swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Smith. Barbu fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but Barbu persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Smith tries to roll over but Barbu keeps him under control. Barbu trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom. Smith is controlling Barbu's position as best he can from this difficult position. Barbu prevents Smith from improving his position. Barbu is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Barbu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smith doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barbu.

He's hooked one of Barbu's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Barbu's back! Barbu trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Barbu wants to escape the position.

A close round but Benjamin Barbu will probably get the nod. That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith cracks Barbu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Nice takedown defense from Smith. No joy for Barbu on that attempt. Smith was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Smith throws a right and a left that both miss. Barbu lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively. Barbu looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smith is fending him off so far but Barbu persists. Nope, Smith circles away and we're back to standing. Barbu shoots for a takedown but Smith saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Rangi Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benjamin Barbu. Smith trying to stand up but can't free himself from Barbu's guard. Smith passes Barbu's left leg - he's now in half guard. Still in half guard, Smith seems content to control. Benjamin Barbu has got the better of the ground game so far. Smith wants to free his trapped foot but Barbu is holding on for dear life with his legs. Barbu tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Barbu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Barbu trying to control but Smith postures up.
Barbu is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smith's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smith's back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Barbu gets his way!

Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Barbu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smith is keeping the position for now. Barbu is pushing down on Smith's leg trying to pass to half guard. Smith is fighting to maintain full guard but Barbu has managed to sneak the leg through. Barbu trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom. Barbu stalling away here and it's allowed Smith to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Barbu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Smith seems keen to control Barbu's posture. Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Smith keeping moving, preventing Barbu from controlling successfully.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Barbu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Barbu somewhat. Barbu shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Barbu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rangi Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rangi Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benjamin Barbu.

Barbu shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Barbu throws out a leg kick but Smith moves out of range and Barbu only half commits. Smith is looking for a counter combo. A clash of legs there as Smith blocks the low kick. Barbu tries to score with a low kick but Smith moves his leg out of the way. Smith went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Benjamin Barbu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab lands there for Smith. Benjamin Barbu is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith digs a good body shot into Barbu's ribs. Barbu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Barbu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The fighters are battling for position here. Smith manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Barbu looking to sit in guard and control but Smith gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Barbu is retaining full guard. Smith preventing the sweep. Smith trying to control but Barbu is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith lands a couple of decent looking shots.

A shot in the inside from Budlung. Kelly has Budlung pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Budlung manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Kelly avoids the elbow strike from Budlung, against the cage.

Wall manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Wall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Wall trying to pass the guard but The Convict defending well. Wall is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Wall is looking to advance position but The Convict won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wall thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed The Convict's head. The Convict is trying to stand back up but Wall is controlling him

The Convict tries to kick Wall off but Wall keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Wall is looking to pass to full mount but he's left his head exposed in the process. The Convict has locked up a guillotine and regained full guard. He's really cranking on it - this could be the end! Is it? Is it? No... YES! YES! He's tapped! I didn't think he was going to get it there for a minute but he did! Well done The Convict! He waited for his chance and took it!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mackenzie.
A countering left hand to the body from Green misses. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Green has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Green lands a head shot. A jab lands there for Mackenzie. Mackenzie throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Green looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Mackenzie lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Mackenzie lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
It looks like Ron Green has been cut. Green lunges at Mackenzie with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mackenzie's hand. Mackenzie misses the shot to the body. Green closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Green lands in his opponent's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Green sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mackenzie's guard. Green working Mackenzie over with strikes. Green winds up and cracks Mackenzie with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Green working over Mackenzie with some ground and pound. Mackenzie looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Mackenzie knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Green on the ground. Green is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Green has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Green lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Mackenzie pushes Green off looking to stand but Green dives back in and keeps control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Green connects with a nice short shot to Mackenzie's temple.

Green is nestled in close to Mackenzie, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Green lands a big elbow - Mackenzie is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Green!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adams scores with a jab to the jaw. Adams shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Silva eats them both and turns towards Adams to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Adams throws a right and a left that both miss. Adams misses with a two punch combination.
Adams moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromSilva. Adams scores with a nice right hand.
Leigh Adams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Adams tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva only half commits to the counter leg kick. Adams clobbers Silva with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Adams darts in and clinches Silva up against the cage. Adams breaks from the clinch.
A slow jab from Adams misses its intended target. Adams pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Silva follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Adams.

Adams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Adams scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Adams wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance. It seemed like Silva was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Adams throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely. Silva gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Adams. Adams lands a two punch combo.
The fighters circle momentarily. Adams darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Adams misses with a leg kick. Adams looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. A left lands for Adams. Adams looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Adams thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.
Silva regains full guard. Nicely done. Adams makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Silva has his foot on Adams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Adams works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Silva is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Adams rolls with it to try and escape but Silva cranks on the arm and Adams is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
