The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melcher shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mack cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Jon Melcher has been cut.
Mack defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Melcher.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Melcher is defended easily by Mack.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Melcher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Melcher throws a right and a left that Mack avoids nicely.
Melcher shoots in for a double leg but Mack sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Melcher seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Melcher shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mack napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Melcher creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mack sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Mack is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Melcher misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mack decides to stand back up. Mack steps back and let's Melcher get back to his feet.

and Mack counters with a crisp one two that drops Melcher! Mack thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Melcher to his feet! Melcher is in big trouble!

Melcher is rocked!
Mack Throws a clean left jab. Mack Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Melcher's chin! Melcher crumbles to the ground and Mack follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Mack!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Khalil Mack!
After the fight, Khalil Mack was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Jon Melcher spoke after the fight, saying 'We tried. We failed. I guess it's back to the ol' drawing board!'.

Ashton chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Freeman can pounce on him.
Ashton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Freeman manages to avoid it.
Ashton tries to bum rush Freeman with a series of wild strikes but Freeman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A little feinted left hand from Freeman on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Eric Ashton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ashton throws a head kick that misses.
Freeman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ashton with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Freeman to score with a decent uppercut.
Freeman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Freeman uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ashton.

Sato sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Kermode's defenses. It connects perfectly with Kermode's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ryosuke Sato!
Ryosuke Sato decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
