Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Giacomo Zappacosta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brian Spiagnu!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spiagnu throws a leg kick but Zappacosta sees it coming and moves out of range.
A quick step to the side and Zappacosta tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zappacosta swings for the body but Spiagnu moves out of range.
Spiagnu throws a lazy uppercut
and Zappacosta counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Zappacosta lands a nice hook to Spiagnu's body. Spiagnu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
An inside leg kick from Spiagnu misses.
Spiagnu throws a good cross that connects.
A jab lands there for Spiagnu.
Spiagnu scores with a hook to the body. Zappacosta takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good exchange - Spiagnu coming out on top.
Spiagnu throws a hook but Zappacosta blocks it.
Spiagnu ducks under a wild hook from Zappacosta.

Brian Spiagnu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Spiagnu tests Zappacosta's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Zappacosta throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Spiagnu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Zappacosta uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Spiagnu.
Zappacosta swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Zappacosta has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Zappacosta there as he acknowledges the shot.
Spiagnu is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Zappacosta misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Zappacosta darts in and clinches Spiagnu up against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Zappacosta scores with a nice short uppercut.
Zappacosta lands a body punch.
Zappacosta lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A short body shot lands from Zappacosta as the two fighters clinch.

Spiagnu takes a shot to the head.

It looks like Brian Spiagnu has been cut.
Zappacosta lands a shot to the body.

Spiagnu is rocked!
Zappacosta throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Zappacosta cracks Spiagnu with a nice body shot.
Zappacosta lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Spiagnu is still on wobbly legs! Can Zappacosta finish him?
A quick uppercut on the inside from Zappacosta.
Zappacosta unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Spiagnu! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Zappacosta is unloading with more strikes now! Spiagnu drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Giacomo Zappacosta!
A very excited looking Giacomo Zappacosta made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
In defeat, Brian Spiagnu stepped up to the mic, saying 'This is my last fight in MMA, GG WPed'.
