Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shamil Musaev (ranked 5398 p4p, 469 weight class) and Chaz Garrick (ranked 5006 p4p, 452 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Musaev might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tseni Druzey. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Musaev gets tackled into the cage by Garrick. Garrick maintains the clinch. Garrick stalling in the clinch.
Musaev has Garrick pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Musaev pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Garrick tumbling to the mat - Musaev dives into Garrick's guard. Garrick is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Musaev throws an elbow that misses. Garrick uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Musaev's guard. Nice move by Garrick! Garrick wants to control from the top but Musaev keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Musaev has control of Garrick's left arm, preventing Garrick from doing any damage. Garrick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Garrick throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Musaev. Garrick clinches up with Musaev and pushes him back against the cage. Garrick tries to break the clinch but Musaev is controlling the position. Musaev is trying to break free. Musaev tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Garrick effectively controlling the action here. Garrick blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Musaev has Garrick pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Garrick manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shamil Musaev. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Garrick drags the fight down to the ground.
Garrick has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Musaev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Garrick is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Musaev is aware though and is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garrick is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Musaev is controlling him. Garrick doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Garrick can do anything to dispel that myth. Garrick trying to control the position.
Garrick is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Musaev avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Musaev fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Garrick shoots in for a takedown but Musaev shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Musaev shoots in but Garrick avoids the takedown attempt easily. Musaev throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Garrick. Musaev misses with a takedown attempt - Garrick sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shamil Musaev. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Garrick tries a head kick but it misses.
Garrick closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Musaev quickly recovers to half guard. Garrick stops Musaev from getting back to his feet.

Garrick uses his free foot to push down on Musaev's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Musaev. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Garrick sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Garrick tries to control but Musaev wriggling away. Musaev is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Musaev is looking to improve his position but Garrick isn't that keen on the idea. Garrick has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garrick mounts Musaev! Really nice guard pass there! Garrick tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Garrick tries to control but Musaev wriggling away. Garrick throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Musaev because Garrick loaded up on that one. Garrick controlling the position easily from mount. Musaev is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garrick is standing up, even though he is in mount. Garrick moves into the clinch. Musaev is working for takedown but Garrick is calmly controlling the position for now. Garrick tries to pull guard but Musaev holds him up against the cage and eventually Garrick drops back down to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Garrick swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Musaev is now in Garrick's guard. A big mistake from Garrick there, giving up the dominant position! Musaev tries to free his leg and advance position but Garrick is retaining full guard. Garrick looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Garrick is striking but Musaev is not phased and passes to half guard. Garrick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Musaev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Musaev's corner is telling him to maintain position. Musaev wants to control from the top but Garrick keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Garrick shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Musaev sprawls well. Musaev wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Garrick gets slowly back to his feet. Garrick scores with a takedown into Musaev's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garrick trying to control but Musaev is working from the bottom. Garrick sitting in guard here, content to control. Garrick keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Musaev's head. Musaev utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Garrick wants to control from the top but Musaev keeps moving. Shamil Musaev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chaz Garrick is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Garrick missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Chaz Garrick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Garrick has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quintana shoots in and gets a takedown into Ruiz's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Quintana controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Quintana distracts Ruiz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Quintana in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Quintana throws a big right hand that misses. Ruiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quintana. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Quintana trying to control but Ruiz is working from the bottom. Quintana is standing up over Ruiz. Ruiz looks to escape but Quintana dives into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Quintana punching from mount but Ruiz doing a good job of avoiding damage. Ruiz wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Quintana.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Repstien shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kula makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Kula lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
It looks like Magnus Repstien has been cut. Nice combo by Kula! Oh, that's hurt him - Repstien falls to the canvas and Kula follows him into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Repstien is looking to regain half guard here but Kula keeps moving and retains side control. Kula trying to control the action but Repstien is working from the bottom. Repstien on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Kula really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Repstien. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kula cracks Repstien with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Kula immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Repstien is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Kula!

Jackson is trying to force a seperation but Gray has the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson is defending well against a takedown attempt. Jackson misses with a hook from the clinch. Gray is looking to take this one to the mat. Gray blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Jackson fails in his attempt to clinch. Gray was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Jackson has taken the fight to the clinch.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Gray breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gray paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gray looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Gray seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Gray drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Gray seems to have locked his on tight now - Jackson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Gray , as he picks up the win!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cool gets caught flat footed, as Sheeran shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Sheeran is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Sheeran passes into half guard. Sheeran with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cool can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cool is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sheeran slows the pace down in half guard. Sheeran lands strikes from half guard. Sheeran keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Sheeran prevents Cool from standing back up.
Still in half guard, Sheeran seems content to control. Sheeran looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cool with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Sheeran is taking a breather. Cool says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We've been hearing that Sheeran has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Sheeran's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Sheeran throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Still in half guard, Sheeran seems content to control.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Cool closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Sheeran is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Sheeran moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Sheeran controls Cool momentarily but Cool frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cool stopping the sweep attempt from Sheeran. Sheeran keeping moving, preventing Cool from controlling successfully. Sheeran seems keen to control Cool's posture. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cool's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Cool being controlled here momentarily. Cool is looking to pass into half guard but Sheeran pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Sheeran is in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sheeran landing with the ground and pound. Sheeran passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. We've been informed that Cool has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Sheeran stalling. Cool kicks Sheeran off and gets back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sheeran fails in his attempt to clinch. Sheeran displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Sheeran tries to sprawl but Cool drives through with a takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ben Sheeran will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It looks like Julius Reed has been cut. Reed lands the left hand. Reed definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Gaudalupe moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Reed goes down! Can Gaudalupe finish him!? This has been an exciting period of action! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reed is on top in guard.

Reed tries to counter by clinching up but Gaudalupe breaks away and moves out of range. Gaudalupe drops Reed with a big left hand and mounts him. Reed is in big trouble!
Reed is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gaudalupe tries to control but Reed wriggling away. Oh Reed is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Gaudalupe stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Gaudalupe flashes Reed a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Reed's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Reed crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Gaudalupe punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stek lands a big right hand that sends Smash crashing to the mat! Stek stays standing though and waves Smash back to his feet! Smash looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smash is thwarting Stek's attempts to control the position. Stek on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Smash stalling. Stek trying to hold on to Smash's head to control him but Smash postures up.
Stek is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Smash working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Smash lands a nice short elbow. Smash passes to side control. Smash scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Stek to see if he's OK. Smash has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stek pushes Smash away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Smash gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Smash cracks Stek with a big right hand but Stek just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Smash works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Smash controls the position. Smash tries for a kimura but Stek is defending well. You can see the frustration on Stek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Smash scoring with punches from side control. Smash working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Stek takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Smash happy to just control the position for now. Smash working the head and body with strikes.
