The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes scores with a nice head shot. Tantor misses with a hook. Hughes throws a jab when Tantor was well out of range. And Tantor counters with a quick kick to the body but Hughes blocks it. Hughes thows a left - swing and a miss! Jab from Hughes. Hughes misses with a hook. Tantor ducked under it nicely. And that's the end of the fight! Seymour Hughes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hughes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Smith has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nator uses from the top position. Nator is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Smith has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy. Nator tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard. Nator trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Smith manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Nator wants to sweep but no luck. Smith is pushing down on Nator's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nator is fighting to maintain full guard but Smith has managed to sneak the leg through. Nator is not content to let Smith control the position. Nator is trying to get back to full guard. Smith trying to mount his opponent but Nator defends it. Smith is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Smith prevents Nator from improving his position. Smith stalling away here and it's allowed Nator to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Nator gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Nator advances position into side control! Nator has knee on belly and moves into mount. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Brawler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Winn is working hard here to advance position.
