Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marvin Hagler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Randy Turpin! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turpin scores with a jab. Hagler acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Turpin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hagler's head. Turpin's coach down at Ocean Ripples was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Turpin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Turpin lands the left hand. Hagler definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Turpin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Turpin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hagler misses with an uppercut
and Turpin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hagler moves away from the strike by Turpin. Hagler moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Turpin throws a lazy right hand but Hagler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Turpin throws a hook but Hagler blocks it. Hagler was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Turpin lands a jab. Turpin lands a glancing blow to the side of Hagler's head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Turpin throws a shot from downtown. Hagler moves away and avoids it. Turpin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hagler. Turpin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hagler. Hagler throws an off balance right hand

Turpin's corner calls for a 1-2. Turpin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Turpin ducks under a wild hook from Hagler. Turpin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Turpin moves out of range of the strikes. Randy Turpin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hagler takes one to the side of the head.
Turpin throws a jab when Hagler was well out of range. Turpin digs a good body shot into Hagler's ribs. Turpin throws an off balance right hand
and Hagler cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hagler throws a hook to the side of Turpin's head but Turpin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Turpin looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Hagler throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Turpin sees it coming and avoids it easily. Turpin is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hagler had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. A looping hook to the body misses from Turpin. Hagler does a little dance to reset his feet. Hagler jabbing away but nothing is landing. Turpin moves out of range as Hagler strikes. Turpin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Hagler was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Turpin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hagler.

and Hagler counters with a nice uppercut. Turpin misses with a hook
and Hagler counters with a big uppercut that nearly lifts Turpin off his feet! Turpin crashes to the mat in all kinds of trouble! The referee starts the count but I'm not sure it's necessary - Turpin isn't going to make it! The count reaches 10 and this fight is all over! Hagler screams and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmmm spit, everywhere. Lovely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tiger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Canelo Alvarez dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! A swing and a miss from Alvarez. Tiger misses with a right hand and Alvarez counters with a stiff right hand. Alvarez throws a good cross that connects.
Alvarez has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Tiger misses with a shot to the body and Alvarez counters with a lovely shot to the body. Alvarez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tiger.
Canelo Alvarez seems to be getting the better of the standup. Tiger takes a swing at Alvarez's ribcage but misses. Alvarez connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tiger's hands. Tiger looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Alvarez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tiger manages to avoid it. Alvarez misses with a body shot.

Tiger is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Tiger is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Tiger is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Alvarez takes it!

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. The crowd cheers as Eubank lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jones Jr doesn't seem phased though. Jones Jr cracks Eubank with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Eubank is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Eubank is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine! Eubank is rocked! It looks like Chris Eubank has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Eubank throws a sloppy body shot
and as Eubank tries to reset, Jones Jr cracks him with a perfect counter right hand that drops him to the mat! Eubank is trying to get up but he's doing the chicken dance and face plants back to the floor - that's enough for the referee and he's called the bout! This one is all over!
