Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kimmo Kallio (ranked 1537 p4p, 2281 weight class) and Thomas Quessy (ranked 203 p4p, 273 weight class). Quessy has chosen NTM - Ma Benz as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 29 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimmo Kallio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thomas Quessy! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Quessy. Quessy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kallio.
Quessy closes the distance and clinches up with Kallio, looking for a takedown. Quessy pushes Kallio against the cage but Kallio circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kallio lands a high kick!
It looks like Thomas Quessy has been cut. Quessy fails to land the takedown. Kimmo Kallio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Quessy. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Quessy crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kallio - the referee stops the clock and Quessy gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kallio. Quessy manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Kallio gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kallio looking for a sweep. And Kallio counters with a quick kick to the body but Quessy blocks it. Nice cross by Kallio. Quessy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kallio sprawls well. Kallio wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Quessy gets slowly back to his feet. Kimmo Kallio is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Quessy looks for a takedown but Kallio sprawls well. Quessy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kallio avoids it really well and circles away. Quessy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kallio's waist but Kallio gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Quessy off to one side. Kallio is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Quessy shoots for a double leg takedown but Kallio sprawls well. He's pushed Quessy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kallio throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Quessy drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kallio looking for a sweep. Not yet Kallio, not yet. Quessy is stalling in the full guard. Quessy wants to pass the guard but Kallio is keeping the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jacob Parker. Well Parker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
