Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lamont Sparks!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer looks to score with a jab to the body but Sparks is just out of range.

Sparks tries for a takedown but Palmer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sparks in side control, just content to control the action for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like Sparks might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Palmer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sparks is working away from the top position though.
