Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sylvester Jolt (ranked 4943 p4p, 5235 weight class) and Zeca Gordinho (ranked 461 p4p, 476 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sylvester Jolt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zeca Gordinho! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick from Gordinho misses and Jolt counters with a two punch combo. Jolt pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gordinho back to the cage. Jolt follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Gordinho throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gordinho needs to keep his hands up - Jolt had a free shot at his head there. Gordinho attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Sloppy strikes from Gordinho. Those never looked like landing. Jolt appears to be looking for a counter takedown. We've been hearing reports that Jolt has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Gordinho swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jolt counters with a shoot takedown. Gordinho fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Gordinho rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jolt moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gordinho throws a wild combination but nothing lands. and Jolt decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gordinho's guard. Jolt throws a big elbow that misses. Jolt with a nice head shot there. Jolt missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jolt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jolt wants to pass the guard but Gordinho is keeping the position. Gordinho has momentary wrist control but Jolt slips an elbow through the middle.

Jolt keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gordinho's head. Jolt works a leg free and moves into half guard. Gordinho on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Jolt takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Jolt looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gordinho with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Gordinho taking some punishment here, with Jolt in his half guard. Jolt takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Jolt seems to be working for a kimura but Gordinho defends the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jolt controlling the pace. Jolt is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Jolt connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jolt with shots to the head and body - Gordinho looks very uncomfortable down there. Jolt cracks Gordinho with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
BOOM! Jolt connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The referee warns Gordinho that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jolt tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Jolt raining down shots from the mount! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jolt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sylvester Jolt dominated that second round. That's time! Jolt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round! Gordinho showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jolt.
No joy there for Gordinho, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Gordinho tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jolt was well out of range. Poor timing from Gordinho. Gordinho swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jolt counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gordinho! Sylvester Jolt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jolt tries to move into full mount but can't pass Gordinho's legs. Gordinho taking a bit of punishment here - Jolt scoring with strikes. Jolt lands a decent elbow from side control. Gordinho is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Jolt lands a nice forearm strike. Gordinho takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jolt has hold of Gordinho's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Gordinho tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Jolt cranks the arm and Gordinho screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Gordinho, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Edmund Betz! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Booth goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. It looks like Edmund Betz has been cut. Booth throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Betz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Betz. Booth is looking to stand back up but Betz counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Booth. Booth on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Booth tries to get out of the position. Betz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Betz working over Booth with some ground and pound. Booth looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Betz shoots in looking for a takedown but Booth manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Betz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Betz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Booth is fending him off so far but Betz persists. Nope, Booth circles away and we're back to standing. Betz misses with a takedown attempt and Booth counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Broderick Booth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edmund Betz. No joy there for Booth, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Booth rushes Betz and presses him up against the cage. Booth has had enough of the clinch but Betz keeps him there for the moment. Betz has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Booth after a bit of a struggle. Betz tries to score a body lock takedown but Booth shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Booth wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Betz throws a head punch that misses. Booth blocking some punches.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Betz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Betz moves forwards but Booth connects with a nice, crisp jab. Booth takes the fight into the clinch. Booth wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Betz has him pressed against the cage. Betz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Booth pulls his leg out and moves away.

Betz scrambles back to his feet. Booth closes the distance and clinches. Betz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Booth walks away with a smile on his face. Betz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Booth fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Betz, pushing him back against the cage. Booth is pressed up against the cage. Betz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Booth down to the mat. Booth avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Booth jabs at Betz's body. Booth uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Betz has time to react. Booth changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Booth with a jab. Booth clinches up against the cage.

He can't get it on this occasion though. Booth lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Betz or not. Betz tries to pull guard but Booth holds him up against the cage and eventually Betz drops back down to his feet.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Booth manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Booth leaves Betz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Broderick Booth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edmund Betz. Booth misses with a two punch combination.

That will dishearten Betz somewhat. Booth throws a combination. Betz tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Betz is rocked! Are you kidding me?! Booth ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Betz clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!

With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Louis Gabriel Suchet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Griffin! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin lands a jab to Suchet's midsection. Suchet takes one to the chin there. Griffin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Griffin scores with a punch to the head. Suchet looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Matthew Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Griffin thuds his right hand into Suchet's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Suchet on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Suchet with a poor takedown and Griffin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Griffin moves into range and connects with a jab. Griffin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Griffin's coach down at Gumburcules Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Griffin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A decent looking cross lands there for Griffin. Suchet takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Griffin turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Griffin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Suchet avoiding damage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Suchet takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Matthew Griffin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Griffin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Griffin punishes Suchet's body with a nice straight punch. Suchet takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Griffin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Griffin is looking to slow Suchet down with leg kicks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Griffin wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Louis Gabriel Suchet. That's going to take a lot out of him. Suchet takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Saragih moves out of range of the strikes. Murray throws a quick inside leg kick. Saragih with a nice calf kick. Murray tries to clinch but Saragih is having none of it. A quick step to the side and Saragih tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Murray moves out of range as Saragih strikes. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Murray! But no joy. Murray throws a solid leg kick but Saragih takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Murray. Murray tries to close the distance and clinch but Saragih swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Saragih's jab looks to have found its range, popping Murray under the eye. Murray blocks a head kick by Saragih.
The fight moves into the clinch position. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Saragih creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Murray tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blackwater throws a left and a right that both miss
and Morales counters with a lovely straight right hand! Morales swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Blackwater throws a right hand that misses
and Morales cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Blackwater misses with a takedown attempt and Morales counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Blackwater thinking. Morales has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Blackwater is landing a low percentage of strikes. Blackwater gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Morales counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Blackwater fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lorenz Blackwater. That's going to take a lot out of him. Good leg kick by Blackwater.
