Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Nielson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rock Lee! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee takes a swing at Nielson's ribcage but misses. Lee lands a front kick. Some wild striking there from Lee.

Nielson scores with a hook. A head kick misses from Nielson. Nice body kick there by Lee. Nielson stuns Lee with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Lee misses with a body kick. Nielson attempts a counter takedown but Lee avoids it well and moves away. Lee lands with a kick to the ribs.
Crunch! Lee slams his shin into Nielson's torso. Lee lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Nielson at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lee slips a straight right by Nielson. Lee tries a quick counter leg kick but Nielson is wise to it. Nielson checks the leg kick nicely there.

Nielson goes for a double leg but Lee avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lee continues to drive forward. Nielson decides to pull guard. Nielson is putting a hurting on Lee here, landing some big shots from side control. Nielson grinds an elbow into Lee's temple. Nielson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lee looks to move to half guard but instead Nielson has passed into mount! Damn! Lee felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Lee is squirming around, avoiding Nielson's attempts to control the action. Lee looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Nielson trying to control.

Lee looks to land a body kick but Nielson moved away. Nielson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Lee looks to land a combination but Nielson avoids it well. Nielson tries to counter with a takedown but Lee is quick to defend against it. Nielson gets a clinch. Nielson will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Lee manages to break the clinch.

That'll leave a bruise. Lee is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nielson. Nielson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Lee sprawls and moves away. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Nielson doesn't manage to clinch there - Lee circles away.
Lee has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Lee slips under a jab. A lazy body kick from Lee and Nielson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Nielson. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lee looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Nielson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lee does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Nielson is taking a breather. Lee says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Lee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lee is pressing down on Nielson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Nielson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lee is keeping the position for now. Nielson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Lee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nielson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lee blocks a leg kick. Nielson throws a head kick that misses. Lee takes a swing at Nielson's ribcage but misses. Nielson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Lee's jab looks to have found its range, popping Nielson under the eye. Rock Lee seems to be getting the better of the standup. A combination from Lee does no damage. Nielson rushes Lee and presses him up against the cage. Nielson is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Nielson has Lee pressed against the cage, preventing Lee from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Lee is trying to push Nielson away but Nielson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Lee breaks from the clinch.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Lee ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Nielson throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Lee to counter with a crisp jab. Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A nice leg kick from Lee, right into the meat of the thigh.
Lee uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Nielson has time to react. Nielson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lee throws out the jab. Lee connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Nielson connects with a jab.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Lee throws a combination that misses and Nielson counters with a lovely shot to the body. Lee misses with a straight left. Nielson moves out of range of the strikes. A little feinted left hand from Nielson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Lee throws a body kick that misses. Lee scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Lee feints a jab promting Nielson to slip. Lee then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nielson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Nielson lands a leg kick that knocks Lee off balance momentarily. Nielson tries a head kick but it misses.
Nielson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Lee avoids the head kick by Nielson.

Nielson looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Lee is looking to land body kicks. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Rock Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Lee takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

There ya go! Lee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lee is trying to control the position but Nielson postures up. Lee throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's six minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nielson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nielson has managed to get both his arms back between Lee's legs - danger averted. Nielson stands and throws Lee's legs to the side, diving into side control. Lee is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Nielson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Nielson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Lee to see if he's OK. Nielson wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy. Nielson is chipping away with strikes.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Lee is looking to reverse the position. Lee can't do much from the bottom here. Lee is not content to let Nielson control the position. Lee is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Lee trying his best to control but Nielson has mounted him. Nielson looking to finish Lee with some ground and pound. This is bad for Lee! That's nine minutes gone in the round. Nielson lands a big shot there that rocks Lee but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Lee tries to lock up and control but Nielson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Rock Lee is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Nielson with shots to the head and body - Lee looks very uncomfortable down there. Lee is working to get back to half guard.
Nielson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Rock Lee. I've got Lee winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Pushkin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hammer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yardow moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hammer's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Hammer duly obliges. It looks like Zane Yardow has been cut. Hammer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Hammer was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Hammer swings for the body but Yardow moves out of range.

One final crushing shot and Knight lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
