The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buchanan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vernetti defends well and Buchanan ends up having to push Vernetti into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Buchanan is trying to pull guard but Vernetti has him pressed against the cage.
Buchanan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathaniel Buchanan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Buchanan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vernetti smiles and moves away.
Vernetti stuffs the takedown attempt from Buchanan. Buchanan gets slowly back to his feet.

A little jabbing left from Vernetti on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Buchanan misses with a takedown
enabling Vernetti to counter with a crisp jab.
Buchanan is breathing heavily.
Vernetti scores with a sloppy right hand. Buchanan should have avoided that one.
Buchanan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vernetti tries to avoid it but Buchanan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vernetti to the ground. Vernetti escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Buchanan shoots and misses
and Vernetti scores with a counter punch that sends Buchanan to the canvas! Vernetti smells blood - he's punishing Buchanan with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Buchanan has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
