Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Adrian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adrian comes into the arena with Bed Rock blaring out of the sound system. Brandon Adrian has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Adrian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Rage! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adrian scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Adrian is looking to take a break and control but Rage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rage is working to avoid the ground and pound but Adrian connects with a decent elbow. Rage tries to bench press Adrian off him but Adrian keeps the position. Adrian trying to control the position but Rage is working away. Rage is looking for a sweep. Adrian lands a few punches from side control. Rage prevents Adrian from moving into mount. Adrian scores with a couple of short elbows. Rage tries to bench press Adrian off him but Adrian keeps the position. Adrian working the ground and pound. Rage is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rage manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Adrian knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rage on the ground. Adrian is looking for a sweep. Rage is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Adrian connecting with a few gentle strikes. Adrian tries to roll over but Rage keeps him under control. Adrian moves into full guard.
Adrian tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rage throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rage missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rage tries to free his leg and advance position but Adrian is retaining full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rage gets the takedown into side control. Rage looks gassed! Rage creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Adrian sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Adrian manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Adrian moves into full guard.
Rage being controlled here momentarily. Rage preventing the sweep. Adrian is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Adrian wants to sweep here but Rage controlling him for the moment. Adrian has his hands on Rage's head, controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adrian is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Adrian pulls Rage in to control the position. Rage tries to free his leg and advance position but Adrian is retaining full guard. Adrian wants to sweep here but Rage controlling him for the moment. Adrian lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rage! Adrian has hold of Rage's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rage manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Adrian tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Adrian can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rage is looking to escape. Adrian looking to finish Rage with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rage! Adrian tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Adrian trying to control but Rage is having none of it. Adrian controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adrian shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Adrian was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Adrian jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rage manages to avoid the submission attempt. Adrian is looking to take a break and control but Rage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Brandon Adrian just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Rage with a poor takedown and Adrian counters with a shoot takedown. Rage fights it but they end up in guard. Adrian working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Adrian passes Rage's left leg - he's now in half guard. Brandon Adrian overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Adrian stalling. Rage is breathing heavily. Adrian working Rage over with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adrian looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Adrian works his way into side control. Adrian remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Adrian connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rage some visible discomfort.

Rage takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Adrian is landing with some decent strikes but Rage is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Adrian controlling from mount. Rage tries to get back to half guard but can't.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rage for as long as he can get away with. Adrian wants to finish this one by submission but Rage is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Adrian.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Adrian with a couple of short strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adrian throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rage was covering up waiting for the punch and Adrian finishes the takedown easily into guard. Adrian pushes down on Rage's leg and manages to get into half guard. Rage looking for submissions off his back. Adrian moves into full mount! Rage won't be happy about that! Adrian landing strikes, looking to finish! Adrian looking to control and managing it successfully. Rage takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Brandon Adrian just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Adrian closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Adrian slows the pace down in half guard. Rage is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Adrian has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Adrian can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rage is looking to escape. Brandon Adrian is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Adrian's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Adrian has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
