This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 11 losses; Dragon Li Chai! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 53 wins and 55 losses; Tobias Pancake! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Chai gets the takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Chai (4) vs (0) Pancake Chai tries to move into full mount but can't pass Pancake's legs. Pancake seems a little lost for a moment, as Chai dominates the positioning. Pancake is looking to reverse the position. Chai has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Pancake gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Chai is trying to control the action in half guard but Pancake is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Chai is looking to advance position but Pancake won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pancake controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Chai is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Chai works his foot free and advances to mount. Chai wants to pass the guard but Pancake is defending well.

Pancake keeping moving, preventing Chai from controlling successfully. Chai drops back looking for a leg! Pancake is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pancake manages to kick Chai off! Chai jumps back into Pancake's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pancake tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chai trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pancake looking for a sweep. Not yet Pancake, not yet. Chai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pancake swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pancake is trying to keep Chai in close.
Pancake manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chai manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Pancake's corner is telling him to maintain position. Pancake won't allow Chai to sweep him here. Pancake controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Chai says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are battling for position here. Chai manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Pancake sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chai's guard. Pancake seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Chai is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Pancake has latched onto it... Big trouble! Pancake pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Chai is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Pancake!
