This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 21 losses; David McDonald! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Ramirez slaps away a takedown attempt from McDonald, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ramirez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McDonald to score an easy takedown into full guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Ramirez (0) vs (2) McDonald Ramirez seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. McDonald not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Ramirez keeping full guard, as McDonald tries to pass. McDonald might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ramirez haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. McDonald stalling.
