Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Takehiko Hidaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wing Wang!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hidaka drives through and clinches with Wang against the cage.
Hidaka breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wang shoots in for a takedown but Hidaka shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hidaka is looking to counter punch.
Wang darts in looking for a takedown but Hidaka gets double underhooks and turns Wang into the cage.
Wang takes one on the chin but seems OK.
It looks like Wing Wang has been cut.
Wang fails to land the takedown.
Takehiko Hidaka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wing Wang.
Hidaka lands a big uppercut and Wang crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Wang looks OK. Hidaka waves Wang back to his feet!
Wang is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hidaka lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Wang up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Hidaka from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Wang's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Takehiko Hidaka!
