The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rotten pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rotten throws a hook but Yankov blocks it.
Rotten leaves Yankov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rotten slaps away a takedown attempt from Yankov, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Yankov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rotten throws a right and a left that Yankov avoids nicely.
Rotten pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Rotten tries to bum rush Yankov with a series of wild strikes but Yankov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rotten misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Yankov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rotten striking off his back but it's not causing Yankov any problems.
Rotten manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Yankov is squirming around, avoiding Rotten's attempts to control the action.

Borat Yankov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yankov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rotten has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yankov has managed to get both his arms back between Rotten's legs - danger averted.
