The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Harter.
Harter dives in and grabs Karcher's left leg, looking for a takedown. Karcher pushes down on Harter's head and hops out.
Horrible takedown by Harter or perhaps it was just good defense by Karcher which made him look bad.
A looping hook to the body misses from Harter. Karcher does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karcher is looking to clinch.

and Harter counters with a straight right hand.

and Harter counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Harter.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Harter passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Harter postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
You can see the frustration on Karcher's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Karcher tries to bench press Harter off him but Harter keeps the position.
Karcher takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harter lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Karcher down.

It looks like Landon Karcher has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Karcher managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Harter.
