Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leroy Mulatte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Chang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Damien Chang is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leroy Mulatte! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damien Chang! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mulatte shoots in for a takedown but Chang shows good takedown defense. Chang tries to clinch up but Mulatte circles away and keeps his distance. Mulatte doesn't manage to clinch there - Chang circles away.
Mulatte throws a series of punches but Chang avoids them all with ease. Mulatte wants to clinch up but Chang keeps it at a distance. Mulatte throws a head kick that misses and Chang counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Chang. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Mulatte keeping moving, preventing Chang from controlling successfully. Chang is pushing down on Mulatte's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mulatte is fighting to maintain full guard but Chang has managed to sneak the leg through. Chang wants to control but Mulatte is keeping him busy. Chang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mulatte. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mulatte is looking to control Chang's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mulatte avoid being mounted? Chang looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mulatte trying to hold on to Chang's head to control him but Chang postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mulatte is not content to let Chang control the position. Chang prevents Mulatte from improving his position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Chang circles away from the clinch attempt.
Chang wants to clinch. Mulatte gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Mulatte jumps guard and drags Chang to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Mulatte working for submissions but it's allowed Chang to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mulatte is doing well to control the position and prevent Chang from advancing to side control. Chang is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mulatte has managed to free his arm - good work. Mulatte is looking to escape. Mulatte tries to get to full guard but Chang has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chang is keen to just control but Mulatte is a slippery customer. Mulatte regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Chang. Mulatte seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chang trying to control but Mulatte is working from the bottom. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Damien Chang wasn't active enough on the ground. Mulatte will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mulatte tries to work over Chang's front leg with a kick but Chang checks it. Chang tries to clinch there but Mulatte circles away.

Chang slaps away a takedown attempt from Mulatte, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leroy Mulatte. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mulatte is breathing heavily. Mulatte moves out of range of the body kick. A punch lands to the side of Mulatte 's head but he takes it in his stride. Mulatte fails in his attempt to clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chang tries to bum rush Mulatte with a series of wild strikes but Mulatte uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mulatte walks into a stiff left hand from Chang. Chang leaves Mulatte with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damien Chang dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Chang fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Mulatte fails in his attempt to clinch. Chang blocks a head kick by Mulatte.
Chang takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Chang throws a head kick that misses. Chang tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mulatte manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mulatte avoids the head kick by Chang.
Mulatte takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Horrible takedown by Chang or perhaps it was just good defense by Mulatte which made him look bad. Mulatte misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mulatte is looking to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chang tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mulatte swivels and escapes. Mulatte fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Chang closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mulatte to the mat! Mulatte manages to get full guard. Mulatte looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chang's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Chang works over Mulatte with some ground and pound from guard. Mulatte keeping moving, preventing Chang from controlling successfully. Chang lands a couple of digs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chang slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mulatte has his feet on Chang's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Chang will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Chang displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chang throws a sloppy head kick and Mulatte holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Chang breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chang shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mulatte eats them both and turns towards Chang to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Damien Chang seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mulatte slips a jab from Chang. Chang showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mulatte.

Chang stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leroy Mulatte. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chang tries to clinch but Mulatte is having none of it. Mulatte stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mulatte wants it to stay on the feet. A combination from Chang does no damage. Chang attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Chang uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mulatte.

Chang shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mulatte as he jumps to the side. Mulatte shoots in but Chang avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mulatte moves in looking to clinch but Chang pushes him off. Chang throws a one two combo.
Chang tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Mulatte counters with a lovely shot to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damien Chang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Mulatte fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chang avoids it really well and circles away. Chang throws a right and a left that both miss. Chang closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mulatte circles away. Mulatte slips a straight right by Chang. Chang tries to sprawl but Mulatte drives through with a takedown into half guard. Mulatte passes to side control. Chang tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chang wants to control but Mulatte postures up. Chang is looking to reverse the position. Chang looks to move to half guard but instead Mulatte has passed into mount! Damn! Chang is trying to escape the mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mulatte is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Chang can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mulatte can't control as he wanted to and Chang manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Leroy Mulatte has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Damien Chang is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chang wants to control but Mulatte is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Damien Chang. I've got Chang winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
