Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Steene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clay Mills!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mills throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Steene's head.
A head kick misses from Steene.
Steene shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mills as he jumps to the side.

Clay Mills seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Steene makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Mills really felt that one!
Mills fails to land the takedown.

Steene drives through and clinches with Mills against the cage.
Steene drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mills goes for a takedown attempt but Steene pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Steene closes the distance and clinches up with Mills, looking for a takedown. Steene pushes Mills against the cage but Mills circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No joy there for Mills, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mills is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Mills swats away the attempt to clinch by Steene.
Steene keeps the fight on the outside.
Steene pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mills back to the cage. Steene follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Clay Mills has been cut.
Left hook, right uppercut from Steene.
Mills throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Mills dives in and scores a takedown into Steene's guard.

Steene manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mills's guard. Nice work there by Steene.

Steene shoots in looking for a takedown. Mills tries to sprawl out of it but Steene keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mills manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Steene tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mills smiles and moves away.

Mills pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Steene back to the cage. Mills follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mills tries to clinch but Steene moves out of range.

Steene shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Steene takes a kick to the side of the head.
Mills scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Mills throws a series of punches but Steene avoids them all with ease.

Steene drops his hands momentarily and Mills takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Steene enables Mills to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Steene manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Mills wants to stand but Steene is controlling his posture from full guard.
Steene throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mills accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Steene won't let Mills get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Clay Mills is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mills is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
