Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Motta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin has chosen Leash by Pearl Jam as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Motta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Griffin! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Motta gets in close and instigates a clinch. Griffin is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Motta is defending well. Knees in the clinch landing for Griffin.
Griffin gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Motta.
Griffin is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Motta is defending well for now. Motta pulls guard effortlessly. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Motta is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Griffin preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Griffin works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Motta manages to get himself to full guard.
Griffin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Motta is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Griffin, into his guard. Griffin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Motta passes into half guard.
Motta is trying to control the action in half guard but Griffin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Griffin is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin looking for submissions off his back. Griffin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Motta. Motta stalling. Griffin trying to control but Motta postures up.
Griffin kicks Motta off and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Motta shoots in and drives through. Griffin sprawls well. Griffin blocks a head kick by Motta.
Motta throws the kick towards the body but Griffin avoids it. Griffin tries to clinch but Motta moves out of range. Motta shoots in for a takedown but Griffin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Motta. That's going to take a lot out of him. Motta wants to clinch up but Griffin keeps it at a distance. Motta stuffs the takedown attempt from Griffin. Griffin gets slowly back to his feet. Griffin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Griffin looks gassed! Motta feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Griffin's calf.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Motta throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Motta shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Griffin defends it nicely. Motta shoots for a takedown but Griffin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Griffin stuffs the takedown attempt from Motta. Motta gets slowly back to his feet. Griffin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch but Motta swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Diego Motta will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown but Motta shows good takedown defense. Diego Motta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Griffin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Motta swivels and escapes. Motta fails with a takedown attempt. Motta tries to close the distance and clinch but Griffin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Motta shoots for a takedown but Griffin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Motta gets in close and instigates a clinch. Griffin is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Motta pulls guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin tries to stand but Motta is controlling from the bottom. Motta looking to hit a scissor sweep but Griffin is one step ahead there. Motta has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Motta is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Motta will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Griffin trying to control the position from guard on top but Motta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Griffin shoots in for a takedown but Motta shows good takedown defense. Diego Motta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Griffin. Griffin tries to clinch but fails miserably and Motta counters with a solid body kick. Motta tries to clinch there but Griffin circles away.
Motta closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Motta breaks from the clinch.
Griffin tries to land a body kick and Motta counters with a nice low kick that buckles Griffin's knee momentarily. Motta closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Griffin quickly recovers to half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Griffin trying to control from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Motta passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Griffin! Motta looking to finish Griffin with some ground and pound. This is bad for Griffin! Motta working away from the top, dropping strikes. Motta lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Griffin is squirming around, avoiding Motta's attempts to control the action. Motta looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Motta is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Griffin is forced to tap! Great finish!
