The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Martin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lucas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Martin defends it nicely.
Martin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Martin controlling from side mount.
Lucas looking for a sweep but Martin has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Martin content just to control the position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lucas is desperately trying to improve his position but Martin has a good base and remains in mount.
The referee warns Lucas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Martin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Martin throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Lucas has his hands clasped together but Martin breaks the hold and Lucas is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Martin!
