Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hannibal Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Imanol Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by ALPHA MIKE FOXTROT. Imanol Martin has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Hannibal Smith's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses the shot to the body.
Martin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Martin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith dives in and scores a takedown into Martin's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Martin pushes Smith off and scrambles back to his feet.
Martin fails to land the takedown.
Smith connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Smith fails to land with a series of punches.

Martin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hannibal Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Imanol Martin.
Martin throws a low kick but Smith moves out of range easily.

Smith takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

so Smith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Martin is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith chips away with some ground and pound.

Smith is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Smith lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Smith can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Martin is looking to escape.
Martin squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Smith lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Martin bucks up and throws Smith to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Martin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side.

Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Martin which made him look bad.

Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Smith feints a jab promting Martin to slip. Smith then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Martin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

A shot to the body from Martin misses
and Smith counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Martin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Smith is stalling here but it's allowed Martin to get half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Martin avoids it really well and circles away.
Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Martin swivels and escapes.
Martin shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Martin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Martin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smith manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Smith is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Martin is working away from the top position though.
Martin is taking a breather. Smith says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hannibal Smith.
Martin clinches.
Smith has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Martin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Smith wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Martin has him pressed against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Martin takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Hannibal Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Martin wants to work for an arm triangle but Smith is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Smith is refusing to be controlled, as Martin sits in half guard.
Martin wants to free his trapped foot but Smith is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Imanol Martin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.

After the fight, Hannibal Smith was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
