Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Duane McBride! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chapa Coco! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coco doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. McBride feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cocos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! McBride looks to land a combination but Coco avoids it well. Duane McBride seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McBride falls off balance throwing a combination
and Coco decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McBride's guard. Coco trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McBride wants to get back to his feet but Coco is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Coco passes McBride's left leg - he's now in half guard. McBride knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Coco on the ground. Coco keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coco thows a huge punch but McBride dodges it nicely.
Coco decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. McBride leaves Coco with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Coco showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McBride.
Coco shoots in and gets a takedown into McBride's guard. Coco stands up from guard. Let's bang! Coco dodges the punch combination from McBride.
No joy there for McBride, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McBride wants to clinch up but Coco keeps it at a distance. Duane McBride is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McBride is looking to clinch but Coco is avoiding it.
McBride throws a body kick that misses. McBride fails in his attempt to clinch. Coco clobbers McBride with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Coco shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McBride as he avoids it easily. McBride swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Coco shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Coco pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McBride is keeping the position for now. Coco is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Coco's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McBride keeping full guard, as Coco tries to pass.
Chapa Coco has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Coco closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McBride to the mat! McBride manages to get full guard. Coco in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Coco advances to half guard. McBride tries to kick Coco off but Coco keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Coco stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows McBride to get to his feet. McBride is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coco gets a double leg takedown into McBride's guard. Coco wants to pass the guard but McBride is keeping the position. This has been an exciting period of action! Coco loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Coco showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Coco advances to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chapa Coco dominated that round. That's time! McBride's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Coco has closed the distance and engaged McBride in a clinch.
Coco tries to pull guard but McBride holds him up against the cage and eventually Coco drops back down to his feet.
McBride escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Coco looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. McBride misses with a series of wild punches.
Duane McBride is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McBride looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Coco avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
McBride moves into the clinch. Coco struggles to land a body shot inside as McBride controls his hands.
McBride wants to break the clinch but can't.

Duane McBride has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chapa Coco.

McBride wants to clinch but Coco slips to the side and Coco decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McBride's guard. McBride wants to stand and escape but Coco is having none of it. Coco stands up and waves to McBride to follow him. McBride lands an overhand right. Coco closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Coco throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Coco decides to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coco moves into range and clinches up with McBride. McBride working hard to break the clinch. McBride is defending well against a takedown attempt. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Coco. Coco is looking to take this one to the mat. Coco is trying to pull guard but McBride has him pressed against the cage. McBride escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Coco fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. McBride is looking to clinch. McBride keeps the fight on the outside. McBride throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McBride pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Coco back to the cage. McBride follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Chapa Coco has been cut. Coco scores with a takedown into McBride's guard. McBride on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McBride tries to get out of the position. McBride is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Coco is controlling him. Coco engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Coco advances position into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. McBride wants to get back to his feet. Coco controls the position from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chapa Coco showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Chapa Coco's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Coco closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McBride's guard. Coco throwing strikes but missing. Coco is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. McBride wants to stand up but Coco is controlling him. Coco slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coco sitting and controlling from the half guard. Coco is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Coco decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. McBride wants to clinch up but Coco keeps it at a distance. Coco has a takedown stuffed. Coco showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McBride.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coco throws a head kick that misses. McBride tries to bum rush Coco with a series of wild strikes but Coco uses good footwork to avoid the assault. McBride throws a lazy right hand but Coco sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Coco shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McBride but McBride pushes him off and we're back to square one. McBride looks to land a combination but Coco avoids it well. Both fighters are breathing heavily. McBride moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. McBride moves out of range of the body kick. Coco misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

This has been an exciting period of action! Coco feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. McBride wants to get back to his feet but Coco passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McBride is in trouble now - Coco has advanced to mount! Coco controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coco dominating with strikes here. Coco controlling the pace for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McBride really wants to buck Coco off and get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Chapa Coco comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Coco winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
