The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demidov gets tackled into the cage by Ares. Ares maintains the clinch.

Demidov swings wildly with an uppercut but Ares uses good head movement to avoid it.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ares creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Ares tightens his grip and picks Demidov up, before dumping him to the ground. Demidov manages to land in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Ares has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Demidov keeping moving, preventing Ares from controlling successfully.

Ares wants to pass the guard but Demidov is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Demidov is refusing to be controlled, as Ares sits in half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Demidov fails to land with a series of punches.
Ares feints and then cracks Demidov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Demidov down.

Solomon Ares decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
