Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Apacz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silent Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matthew Apacz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Silent Boxer! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Apacz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Boxer's half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Apacz looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Boxer manages to get to full guard.
Boxer looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Apacz has picked Boxer up and slammed him! Boxer can't keep hold of the triangle and Apacz manages to pass to side control! Boxer tries to improve position but can't. Apacz controls the position from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boxer is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Apacz off and has taken his back! Boxer keeps control of the position as Apacz tries to break free.
Boxer is looking for the choke from the back position but Apacz is controlling his hands well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boxer looking for the RNC. Boxer is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Apacz has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Boxer working for the choke. Boxer goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Apacz escapes and is now in half guard on top. Boxer tries to get to full guard but Apacz has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Apacz tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Boxer. Boxer looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Boxer wants to improve his position but Apacz is controlling well.

Apacz's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Apacz is trying to control the action in half guard but Boxer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Boxer looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Boxer is looking to get back to full guard here but Apacz has managed to pass to side control instead. Boxer tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Apacz moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Boxer throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! A combination from Apacz does no damage. Apacz gets a double leg takedown into Boxer's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Apacz trying to control but Boxer is working from the bottom. Boxer looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Apacz passes into side control.

Silent Boxer dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Boxer gets caught napping as Apacz dives in and scores a takedown. Boxer manages to retain guard. Boxer keeping moving, preventing Apacz from controlling successfully. Apacz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boxer is keeping the position for now. Apacz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Boxer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Apacz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Apacz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Boxer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Apacz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boxer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boxer is trying to get back to half guard. Boxer gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Apacz decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Apacz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Boxer looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Apacz wants to stand but Boxer has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Silent Boxer has got the better of the ground game so far. Boxer actively working from the bottom here. Apacz with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Boxer is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Apacz is pressing down on Boxer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Boxer is holding on for now. Apacz passes to full mount! Apacz controlling the position easily from mount. Boxer can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Boxer looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. I really don't envy Boxer right now.
Apacz trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Boxer doesn't escape. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Boxer tries to escape but Apacz has the hooks in and won't let him break free. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matthew Apacz dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Apacz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Boxer was covering up waiting for the punch and Apacz finishes the takedown easily into guard. Boxer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Apacz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boxer. Boxer tries to get back to half guard but can't. Boxer manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Boxer actively working from the bottom here. Boxer works his way to full guard. Good work. Apacz looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boxer looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Boxer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Apacz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boxer. Boxer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Apacz is looking to take a break and control but Boxer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Apacz takes a little break here. Boxer wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Apacz stands up and beckons Boxer to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! Matthew Apacz showed his dominance in that final round. Well Apacz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
