Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Janos Prohaska! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Prohaska lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Prohaska gets caught napping as Elkins dives in and scores a takedown. Prohaska manages to retain guard. Elkins being controlled here momentarily. Prohaska is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Prohaska looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Elkins puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Elkins prevents Prohaska from improving his position. Elkins works his way into side control. Elkins sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Prohaska is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Prohaska regains half guard. Prohaska avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Elkins.
That's one minute gone in the round. Elkins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Elkins is keen to just control but Prohaska is a slippery customer. Prohaska wants to improve his position but Elkins is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Prohaska is trying to improve his position. Prohaska looks to move to half guard but instead Elkins has passed into mount! Damn! Elkins thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Prohaska keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Elkins landing strikes from the mount. Elkins looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Prohaska wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Elkins.
Elkins landing strikes, looking to finish! Prohaska wants to hold on but Elkins pushes him away. Elkins controlling from mount. Prohaska blocking the ground and pound. Elkins thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Elkins throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Prohaska is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Prohaska tries to hold on but Elkins postures up. Prohaska holds on for dear life. Prohaska is looking to improve his position but Elkins isn't that keen on the idea. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Prohaska wants to control but Elkins is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Prohaska is looking to get to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dwight Elkins dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Elkins dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Prohaska. That did some damage! Elkins fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. Elkins gets slowly back to his feet. Prohaska keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Elkins lands a nice looking body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Elkins.
That's one minute gone in the round. Elkins does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Elkins moves out of range of the body kick from Prohaska.
Prohaska shoots for a double leg takedown but Elkins sprawls well. He's pushed Prohaska's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Prohaska avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Elkins attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Prohaska tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Elkins was well out of range. Poor timing from Prohaska. Elkins lands a head kick that stumbles Prohaska and the fighters go to the mat.
Prohaska is rocked!
It looks like Janos Prohaska has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Elkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Prohaska is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oh Prohaska is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Prohaska utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Elkins landing some decent shots from guard. Elkins content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Prohaska being controlled here, momentarily. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Prohaska holds on and takes a little breather. Elkins is working Prohaska over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Elkins trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Elkins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Elkins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Elkins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Elkins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Elkins throwing strikes from guard but Prohaska blocks nicely. Elkins with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Elkins postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Prohaska covers up, he's hurt! Elkins keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Elkins and the ref steps in to end the fight! Elkins can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
